Chili, Iran, Irak, Libye, Vietnam, Panama.
Jamais.

Iranian strength is what killed the Republicans.
Vice President JD Vance made the surprising admission on social media that Trump’s war with Iran was what caused the massive Democratic Party sweep of the midterm elections, stating plainly that “The reason we lost is the war.”
Saying “the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone,” Vance noted that a poll found Trump 2024 voters who ditched the president’s party in 2026 gave four main answers to the question of what the Republicans could do to win them back: “1) End the war, 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation, 3) Put America First , 4) Change our relationship to Israel.”
All four of these answers tie directly in to Trump’s decision to launch an unprovoked war of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The war itself, failing to put America first, and Washington’s grotesque alliance with the state of Israel are all straightforward references to Trump’s warmongering in the middle east. Cost of living/inflation is also strongly related since the blockades resulting from Trump’s war have been costing every American household thousands of dollars in rising fuel and grocery prices.
That last one is the real story of this election. As is often the case, economic concerns ranked as the number one issue among US voters in the lead-up to the midterm elections, and one of the major reasons why Americans have been struggling economically is because of the war in Iran.
So the story isn’t that Americans spontaneously transformed into a country full of tender-hearted peaceniks in November 2026. The story is that Iran was able to impose an economic cost on ordinary Americans for the actions of their evil government.
The average American is a propaganda-addled empire zombie who has been indoctrinated into cold-hearted indifference to their government’s abuses in the global south. American voters didn’t reject the war in Iran because they believe it’s immoral to bomb schools and civilian infrastructure in depraved wars of aggression overseas, they rejected it because it was costing them more to fill up their pickup trucks, and they were having to pay more money for their buckets of Mountain Dew and ranch dressing.
If Trump had won the war in four to six weeks as he initially claimed he would, his monstrous attack on Iran would have been no more consequential in the polls than his regime change interventionism in Venezuela. It is only because Iran succeeded in doing whatever it needed to do to retain the military strength needed to impose a financial toll on the American electorate that the Republicans lost the Senate for years to come. War with Iran is now officially political poison because of Iranian strength.
US officials love to whine and complain that Iran spends its money on its military instead of on the Iranian people (though the United States is literally the absolute dead-last country on earth who has any business airing such a grievance), and to this day they’re still weeping crocodile tears about the way Tehran aggressively smacked down the CIA/Mossad uprising at the beginning of the year. But Iran has shown the world that a nation must retain its strength if it wants to retain its sovereignty and avoid being turned into another resource extraction scam for the US empire.
Every country that retains the necessary muscle to beat back the US empire’s efforts to absorb it into its power umbrella invariably gets smeared by the imperial propaganda machine as a tyrannical and despotic rogue state, but it is the US empire who makes it necessary for governments to exert force if they don’t want to be replaced with subservient US puppet regimes. Western propaganda likes to frame the global struggle as free democracies versus oppressive autocracies, but really it’s just nations who wish to retain their sovereignty versus the empire who wants to take that sovereignty away from them. It is the fault of the US empire that the only nations who have thus far resisted absorption are the ones who retain enough military strength and domestic control to do so.
The United States didn’t retreat from Vietnam because the Americans suddenly developed a conscience, it retreated because the Vietnamese fought like lions and kept sending home coffins draped in red, white and blue. The Republicans didn’t lose the midterms because Americans dislike war, they lost because the Iranians beat the shit out of them.

🇮🇷🇪🇺|Pezeshkian Told Europe the Truth: You Chose to Be a Runway. Now You Have No Influence.
During a meeting with European Council President António Costa in New York, Pezeshkian said something that should have ended the conversation right there:
"We witnessed not neutrality, but rather inaction on the part of certain nations during the recent war of aggression against Iran."
"By supporting US hostile actions, Europeans have squandered the opportunity to play an active role."
This is not a diplomatic nicety. It's a summary of Europe's role in the war.
Europe didn't just fail to stop the war. Europe didn't just fail to criticize the war. Europe didn't just fail to condemn the bombing of Iranian schools, hospitals, and universities.
Europe gave the war its runway.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte admitted it plainly: 5,000 planes took off from European bases to bomb Iran. That is not "neutrality." That is not "inaction." That is participation. That is complicity.
Pezeshkian is saying what the Iranians have been saying since February: You are not a mediator. You are a launchpad. You cannot claim to be a neutral party while your runways are refueling the bombers. You cannot call for "restraint" while your bases are the logistics hub for the war.
And now Europe is paying the price. It has no influence over the war. It has no influence over the ceasefire. It has no influence over the Strait of Hormuz. It has no influence over anything, because Washington doesn't need Europe's diplomacy. It only needs Europe's airspace.
The Truth Europe Doesn't Want to Hear
Europe had a choice. It could have been a bridge between Iran and the US. It could have offered a neutral platform for negotiations. It could have used its economic leverage to push for a ceasefire. It could have said no to the war.
Instead, it said yes. It hosted the planes. It provided intelligence. It imposed sanctions. It supported the US "maximum pressure" campaign. And now it is irrelevant.
Pezeshkian is not gloating. He is stating a fact. Europe has excluded itself. Not because Iran pushed it out, but because Europe volunteered to be the runway.
The question is not whether Europe wants to be a mediator. The question is whether it has anything left to mediate with. And the answer is: no.

Salam @edsheeran:
You did not apologise. You performed the liberal Zionist trope, start to finish. Let me walk you through your own script.
It is not complex habiby. Three million people live under a government they are not allowed to vote for. In July 2024 the World Court found that Israel's policies breach the ban on racial segregation and apartheid. Complex is what you call it when the simple word costs you a stadium.
It did not start on October 7. That is where you started watching. 750,000 Palestinians were driven out in 1948, before this cabinet existed. The displacement never stopped, it just got paperwork. In 2018 people in Gaza walked to the fence unarmed and asked to go home, and 189 of them were killed. Remove the government today and the settlements, the permits, the walls and the two legal systems are all still standing. Ethnic cleansing is not a policy of theirs. It is the method.
Saying a child should not be bombed does not make you an activist. It makes you human. You called it activism because activism is a job you are allowed to turn down. Being human is not.
Keep politics out of sport. Keep politics out of music. Azeez Al-Shaair wrote a five year old girl's name on his eye black and the NFL fined him $11,941. Second time in a year. The rule is that personal messages must be approved by the league. The league approves sponsors, logos, a cause on every surface of the pitch. What it will not approve is the name Hind Rajab. Politics is welcome when it is selling you something.
You can wear the brand. You cannot say the word. They do not come after everyone. They come after the ones the mainstream actually listens to. Melissa Barrera was fired from Scream VII. Susan Sarandon was dropped by her agency. Kate Beckinsale says she was let go for liking a post about a ceasefire. Robert Kraft spent 15 million dollars on one Super Bowl advert. There is always money for the message and always a price for the sentence.
He said he was afraid to stand in the middle of his own stage. Afraid of who? ACLED studied 553 US campus protests and found 97 per cent were non violent. They also documented at least 70 violent police crackdowns on them, with chemical agents and batons. The people he is describing are a woman holding a sign saying she survived 1948, and a baby in a keffiyeh. The ones who speak up are not braver than him. They are rooted. When the values are actually yours you do not weigh them against a stadium.
The liberal Zionist is the most useful one they have. He grieves correctly. He says catastrophic. He says disproportionate. Disproportionate to what? That word admits there is a right number of dead children and only argues about the total. And he keeps your eyes on Gaza, because Gaza can be called a tragedy. Say Palestine and you have to talk about 1948, the permits, and the right to go home.
He is not sitting on the fence. He is the fence. He does not defend apartheid, he makes it survivable. He gives you somewhere to put your conscience so you never have to move your feet. On 16 September 2025 a UN Commission of Inquiry found that genocide had been committed in Gaza. The largest body of genocide scholars in the world said so a month earlier. There is a word for this and it is not catastrophic. Everyone should be saying it by now, and saying the right one.

There is something almost classical about watching America's decline through Trump.
The Greeks had a word for it: hubris.
Followed, always and without exception, by nemesis.
The country that told the world it was the "indispensable nation."
The country that maintained 800 military bases in 80 countries.
The country that redesigned the global financial system in its own image at Bretton Woods and then spent eight decades using access to that system as a weapon against anyone who disobeyed.
The country that called this "freedom."
Now watching its own cities rot. Its own bridges collapse. Its own citizens die of preventable diseases because the money that should have built hospitals and schools and water treatment infrastructure was spent maintaining the architecture of global domination that was supposed to make America great.
The empire ate the republic.
It ate it from the inside, slowly, over decades, diverting every resource toward the maintenance of power abroad while the foundations at home quietly failed.
And now the republic is screaming at the wreckage and calling the scream a plan.
Hubris. Nemesis. It arrives on schedule.
It always does.
