Tremors and the 1988 The Blob are similar types of movies and the most recent version of this type - tight genre movies that digest easy and are entertaining as hell- was 2023’s Plane.
Having watched “Tremors” twice in three days now, I have to say that the editing it’s top-tier classic-style with phenomenal with exceptional attention paid on scene to scene transitions. The pacing is perfect and the reaction shots are great.
After seeing Digger I will back up my assumption that the trailer for the movie was terrible. Based on the trailer: “You liked Tom Cruise in a costume in Tropic Thunder, you’ll love him now.” Bad assumption.
A lot of back and forth about AI video being “films” and the creators being “filmmakers”.
I just want to quote Spike Lee:
By hook or by crook, make a body of work.
Nothing should be discounted because the creative spirit will not be contained.
Reposting my AI comedy trailer because everyone else is.
This prob cost $5-600 in credits. Mostly due to starting with earlier versions (no character continuity) and going in not understanding the importance of reference stills.
By hook or crook.
Since people are doing horror marathons now, can this unc get a shred of credit for doing the F13 marathon in 2003?
Also marathonned before 2008:
Elm Street
Halloween
Leprechaun/Chucky
Phantasm/Hellraiser
My two cents on Digger. The trailer sucked. All trailers suck now. They all follow the same format and do not clue the audience into what the movie is about or the tone at all. Digger partially failed b/c no one knew fuck all about the movie besides TC in a costume.
Person A makes a stop-motion short in their basement. One person band.
“GENIUS!”
Person A then makes the same short with AI at their computer.
“JOB STEALING SLOP LOSER!”
The primary reason I’d love to be ultra rich is to buy art I love. Beautiful, moving art in the home is like having a million dollar view. Good for the soul.
People who edit TV tend to watch a lot of TV. Part of it is to ‘keep up.’
TV editors should be watching more movies. That’s where the game is really being played.
