i had a lot of people asking how I created the 3d pins for my travel app
and why not share the secret sauce, right? 🤷♂️
here's the step-by-step guide ⬇️
every indie dev learns this the hard way: shipping the app is 10% of the work. distribution is the other 90%.
this is the first thing i've seen that actually automates the part most devs hate 🙌

created this fun koi pond using swiftui and metal
does it have a purpose? no...
have I been moving lily pads and creating ripples in the water for the last hour? maybe...
built a fun pool shader this weekend!
even made it intractable with a rubber duck and a tube 🐤
made with SwiftUI + Metal
for anyone who wants it, I open sourced this shader here ⬇️

was really loving the look of the new Siri, so I decided to recreate it with shaders!
it's even reacts to sound in the same way
made with swiftui + metal
apple intelligence is massively underrated for adding little features like this
i added a mini language learning game to my travel app that you can play while your trip is generating (or in the days before you leave)
the whole thing is generated by the on-device model and supports 16 languages
still think one person + ai is going to become a surprisingly normal way to build a multi-million dollar software company

for anyone interested, I open sourced these sliders as a swift package!

spent some time this weekend trying to recreate some of my favorite sliders
think there's some room for improvement but was fun trying to create this SwiftUI package
