David Friedberg: Obama Doesn’t Understand AI and He’s Making Prosperity Political
President Obama last week:
“If we are thinking about AI just in terms of how do we cure cancer or get better energy, you can do that without having agentic AI. That's a misalignment between what our society needs and the commercial imperatives that these companies are facing.”
@friedberg:
“These words honestly just, they made me, like, emotionally distressed that if he's a leader that people listen to and he doesn't really articulate accurately what's going on, it's sad that we've lost the plot.
I think it's sad that we aren't all kind of holding hands saying, ‘My God, the future is here, and we all get to leap forward, and we get to bring people up.’
For years, Obama orated beautifully about the importance of bringing people up, about giving people the opportunity to progress, about letting people advance themselves. And there's never been a more equalizing technology, a better economic opportunity for prosperity for everyone than these technologies, than these tools.
And to hand wave the word agentic and say we don't need agentic AI to solve cancer shows how little he actually understands how this technology works and how it's all become just a shorthand for a political fight to what?
What are you fighting for? What is the political battle that says, ‘I am going to leave half the population behind, and I'm going to make an argument against prosperity for all, in order to make my party look like a morally superior party, and to cast the other side as bad when the other side has literally discovered fire and the world now has fire, and we're going to go take water and throw it on the fire.’
No one gets fire because the other guys are saying that fire is good.”

Thank you, Mr. President.
A U.S. Army base in Poland is a historic step indeed.
For three centuries our geography was our sentence: a flat plain between two empires, and no ally close enough to matter. In 1795 we vanished from the map. In 1939 we were divided again within weeks. In 1945 the West signed us away at Yalta without asking.
We were never short of courage. We were short of a friend who would actually be there.
That is why Poland spends what it promised and buys what works – we know exactly what the alternative costs, because we paid it twice within living memory.
The Polish-American bond is not sentimental. Two nations that would rather build than be administered, that take freedom literally, and that both learned the hard way what liberty costs when you cannot defend it.
@realDonaldTrump
Dziękujemy.
How Poland could become America’s greatest partner - a thread:
Poland, of all the nations on Earth, is the one that loves Liberty and the United States the most. Polls show that we love them even more than the US love themselves - the United States of Liberty and the Founding Fathers’ Ideals - the US of Reagan, that precipitated the Fall of Communism…

The anti-prison / anti-police advocates do realize they are turning the justice system over to people like me? How stupid are you? Those systems are the only reason you currently exist.

It's completely bizarre for any 'man' to be able to instantly name their "favorite drag queen" let alone the name of any drag queen at all.

This is wild. The real justification to remove the holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy
trial has been exposed
“Fox News obtained the emergency appeal that was filed to the Massachusetts Supreme Court. This again is from the defense. This is their appeal to try to stop the mistrial. What they argue in this appeal, and I'm not making this up, they argue that the lone juror is engaging in a line of reasoning which, quote, "reflects a bias against those who are suffering from debilitating mental illness, a protected category under both the Fifth and 14th Amendments."
Yes, the defense seriously argued that by voting to send a woman to prison for killing her children, he was discriminating against the disabled”
So they actually argued that you can murder your kids and claim mental illness, and if anyone questions that you might not be mentally ill then that means they are discriminating against the disabled….
This is the society we have allowed
Dude..
🚨 JUST IN: President Javier Milei is DOUBLING DOWN on Argentina claims to the Falklands during a dispute with the UK, slapping a wave of new sanctions, after President Trump indicates he would NOT rush to the UK's defense
Milei says they're under "British OCCUPATION"

I will no longer be debating Lindsay Clancy supporters. I will just be posting this video in reply to any of them.

Ro, “in your scenario, the founder could sell to pay a one time 5 percent tax or the state could sell it if he defaults on the loan”
Ro, this is the biggest fuck you in the history of entrepreneurship. Ever.
Creating jobs but don’t have cash. Fuck you
Can’t sell shares, we will sell it for you, to whoever. Fuck you.
Creating jobs. Paying great wages instead of taking cash out yourself. Fuck you
Reinvesting into your company and community. Fuck You.
Don’t you know that Jensen, and Lisa Su, and people who have vast amounts of liquidity already have no problem with it. Fuck You
There is a huge difference between someone with liquidity , running a huge public company, and someone who has dedicated every minute of who knows how many years, to building a company, to finally have a dream financing come true , only to be insulted by a politician. “We will sell your shares for you “

Mark, most of the 250 billionaires in California DO NOT have this liquidity issue.
They have public stock.
In your scenario, the founder could sell to pay a one time 5 percent tax or the state could sell it if he defaults on the loan.
Ask Jensen, Lisa Su, Sundar if they plan to leave California if this ballot initiative passes. Btw 85 percent of the nation's VC money came in Q1 2026 to California.
I love your passion. I respect your intellect and ability to get things done. Why not put this energy in figuring out how we bring capital and high paying jobs to every community in America? Why not put it towards figuring out the policy that expands childcare or healthcare (as you are working on reducing drug pricing)? Of all the things in America, aren't those more pressing issues than a one time 5 percent tax on 250 billionaires to pay for healthcare for poor kids and families in California?
