Oh it's about to get really bad... Wait until they phase out the non-conference games with the FCS schools who rely on that money for their athletic program. The domino effect will be catastrophic for a lot of schools

The reason why the 24 team playoff format works for FCS, D2, and D3 is because it increases interest in the schools/teams participating in it. It doesn’t work in the FBS Especially when the committee chooses who they want in there. They did it when there were just four teams

From ESPN's story on the potential expansion to 24 teams for the College Football Playoff: "CFP leaders could consider a requirement to eliminate FCS opponents, so Group of 6 teams play only FBS-level teams." Lots on the table right now, this would send shockwaves everywhere.
