If you are in a state school and have been lucky enough to study Ancient Greek to GCSE then @classicsforall can offer you the chance to continue your studies to AS level, online for free. Only a couple of places left @JACTGreek @JACTLatin_Greek @Classical_Assoc @Hellenic_Soc
A wonderful production of Sophocles's Electra last night -- Huge thanks to the cast and crew, under the direction of tutor Polly Caffrey, with Tutor Alex Carroll; an original score was composed by tutor Clive Letchford, with one part by student Alex Winnifrith
And in last night's lecture, Judith Mossman took us through the differing versions of Electra and Orestes's reunion, so we can get so much more out of the performance of Sophocles's Electra tonight! #TheOwlNeverSleeps
Our course concert yesterday was wonderful -- a beautiful programme beautifully played. Huge thanks to all our performers and to tutors Krishnan Ram-Prasad and Annabel Williams, for organising it and for rehearsing and conducting the course orchestra and choir respectively
Your admin knows that Krishnan and Annabel would also like me to thank tutor Will Johnson for his help #TheOwlNeverSleeps
A fantastic, truly interdisciplinary lecture last night from Sarah Smart introducing us to ancient medicine #TheOwlNeverSleeps
Last night we learned all about Indo-European from our course director, David Langslow #TheOwlNeverSleeps
Last night's performance of Aristophanes's Wasps rightly brought the house down – just brilliant from start to finish. Huge thanks to the cast and crew, the props team (led by tutor Clare Sharp, with Tutors Sarah Smart and Sally Gray), and play director tutor Alastair Harden!
A great party last night on the acropolis with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere -- and, of course, ancient Greek karaoke, with a version of Britney Spears's Hit me baby, one more time, masterminded by tutor John Dant #TheOwlNeverSleeps
Our student party is ongoing -- pizza up on the acropolis, plus dancing and karaoke: some of our tutors have just channelled re inner S Club...
A brilliant lecture on Aristophanes's Wasps from Costas Panayotakis tonight -- with some help at the end from our tutors and DA Katie...
Tonight we've heard all about Socrates on love from Armand D'Angour #JACTGreek24
Last night we heard all about Augustus in Greek historians -- and the importance of looking at a range of sources -- from Christopher Burden-Strevens #TheOwlNeverSleeps
No third session on this sunny Wednesday afternoon, but loads going on: a walk to Hod Hill led by tutors Eleanor Dickey and Philomena Probert and props and costumes in the art block, plus chamber choir at five and the full course choir at 5.30! #TheOwlNeverSleeps
