As the L3E7 Guardians launch is only 3 days away... I appreciate you taking the time to read through it all. Last year, we didn't expect that L3E7 Genesis would bring the free mint meta. This year, with L3E7 Guardians, we're continuing to innovate and push boundaries. I wanted to share some personal insights on decision-making. 1. Invest in Your Own Project Back in 2019, L3E7 had hardly any backers or investors. No one was building a 3D location-based game back then. Our founders, @0xYeoWeb3 & @0xGreyzzz even sold their homes to develop technical barriers. So yeah, they were all in - go hard or go home. When it comes to Web3 assets, I can't quite understand the team aren't willing to invest in their own project. I personally bought/OTC 23 Genesis NFTs and being the top2 holder because I believe deeply in what we're building. On one hand, we have to admit that many ppl in Web3 are profit driven - if your fp goes to zero, interest will fade fast. On the other hand, being a large holder gives you invaluable insight into what holders want: What utilities are they looking for? How do you make them feel confident in holding your assets? When you position yourself as a holder, you gain a new perspective. You won’t design a terrible tokenomics if you have personal stakes in it. In short, the project and holders aren't on opposite sides. We're in the same boat. 2. Gain-Share Mechanism "5000 supply and 0.1 mint price is a cash grab!!" It’s unfortunate that many ppl in Web3 don’t READ at all. That's why they miss out on opportunities and get jealous later. Our team isn't taking a single cent from the mint fund - it’s a 0-risk mint: xitter.cf/Jer_NFTworld/status/18… Even after two years, L3E7 continues to experiment without milking the Web3 community. If this mechanism goes well, it could be an inspiring case study for other projects in the space. 3. NFT/WL Distribution "L3E7 only released a small supply to actual users and then celebrated their price increase!" WTF ARE YOUR SMOKING? Is it so hard to admit others success instead of hating on it? For our Genesis NFT, everything was transparent from day1 - every allocation was publicly announced in our Discord. The team vault and in game rewards account for only 60 NFTs. For Guardians, we distributed nearly 2,000 WLs to players who participated in game tests. The WL distribution is also outlined in our Medium: - Mintable for WLs: ~3,300 (including Gen1 holders, game testers, collab partners, Discord winners) - Gen1 Holder Airdrop: 600 - Investors, Custom Guardians, Cosplay Contest Winners Airdrop: 100 - Marketing Reserve & In-game Rewards (Locked): 500 - L3E7 Treasury (Locked): 500 Actual liquid NFTs vs. locked NFTs = 4,000:1,000. While it may not be a perfect balance, 100% of WLs went to non-team users. We've seen that giving most GameFi WLs through collab raffles often leads big L. It's better to allocate WLs to people who play or understand the game, not just for empty hype. There's no universally accepted definition of success in collaborations - you're never going to please everyone. I apologize if our strict standards made anyone uncomfortable. If you think the distribution was unfair, you know where to find me. However, imagine a "gaming community" only using 3 out of 30 codes during game testing, then asking for 5~10 gtd WL spots. If you were in our shoes, how would you react? There’s no absolute right or wrong in this space; everyone has their own perspective. Identifying good users is tough. Maintaining relationships in this space is even damn tougher. But knowing how to say no is also a form of courage. I’m proud of the CMs who uphold these standards on our team @triples_eth, @JAARwei99, @BreezeYuan. I have so much more to share as a gamefi builder, but let’s keep this short. The space is still young, and real builders are constantly setting new standards and doing things right. At the end of the day, the product and the results will speak for themselves. I’m confident that L3E7 Guardians will perform well after launch. While one project make it won’t revive the market, but 10 projects’ success will. Let’s keep building the right way. GameFi will eventually make it.
