Bees can be blue.
Xylocopa caerulea, the blue carpenter bee, is non-aggressive and semi-solitary.
They do not build hives like honeybees but instead prefer to live inside dead wood.
It is found throughout Southeast Asia, India, and Southern China.

Criticizing Israel’s killing of Palestinian civilians is not antisemitism.

That’s the problem:
I don’t hate you. I have nothing against you at all.
But it sounds like you experience my engagement as hate and bigotry.
The problem is: when you imagine that someone else’s intentions are hateful when they actually aren’t, then you’ve created a fight for yourself. This happens because you’re not seeing the other person clearly.
It’s happening on a large scale. To do this is only human and it’s very important to notice.

That’s not the definition of antisemitic. That’s a definition of your subjective experience, which I still respect.
But if you make your own subjective experience the only truth, you risk doing violence to others.
This is the definition:

It’s not antisemtic to say:
“The Nazis committed genocide and that was horrific. Israel is doing some similar things now. The scale is different but the rhetoric and dehumanization is shockingly similar to what was seen in Nazi Germany. We know what genocide looks like. The Nazis did it. It’s always wrong, no matter who the victims are.”

One other thought: I find @StopAntisemites to be a definitionally antisemitic twitter account.
-Conflating real antisemitism with things that aren’t actually antisemitic, provides cover for antisemitism
-Conflating the perpetrators of genocide in the Israeli government with all Jewish people increases antisemitism around the world. It makes all Jewish people a target for the anger and pain around the atrocities Israel is committing.
Israel fuels this misunderstanding and so does @StopAntisemites

2 true things:
1) Many people are hateful and antisemitic
2) Israel is committing a genocide of innocent, ordinary Palestinians
Israel’s response will not help reduce antisemitism. It will increase it by conflating the perpetrators of war atrocities with all Jewish people.

Murdering fellow humans as retribution is a failure of empathy.
