This Jean Grey scene is exactly why Insomniac gets so much criticism for some of its female character designs.
When they want to, they clearly CAN cook.
In the age of cosplay, fan art and edits, a memorable character design can market a game for years.
Just bought Control Resonant (PC) & Silent Hill: Townfall.
Once I finish Wolverine, I’m jumping back into Control. I wasn’t too happy with it on PS5 Pro, so I want to see how it runs on PC.
My Gears of War E-Day collector’s edition arrives Monday too.
Expect plenty of posts!
Insomniac just addressed one of my main complaints with Wolverine.
The new update lets you disable several Sense indicators, including Scent Trails, Audio Clues and Nightmare Roots.
I saw many players criticize this too, and honestly, I really like the change. Before vs after:
New era.
Ashen One ❌ → Nikfor ✅
This is permanent, guys. No going back this time.
Ashen One felt too general and too closely tied to FromSoftware. Some people dismissed my opinions because they assumed I was a FromSoftware fanboy, while others thought my content was only about their games. I love those games, but I already cover a much wider variety, and I wanted a name that better represents me.
Nikfor feels more personal. Some of you might remember me using it for a few months before switching back to Ashen One. But its history goes back much further: over 10 years ago, I started a YouTube channel under that name, uploaded a few videos, and then stopped. Now I’m bringing it back for good.
It’s pronounced roughly like “Nick-four,” with the emphasis on “Nick,” and comes from letters in my surname. Add an “i” between the “k” and “f” and you get Nikifor, a form of the Greek name Nikiforos, meaning “bringer of victory.” My surname carries the same meaning!
Also, an important detail, guys: it’s Nikfor, not Nick or Nik, so please don’t shorten it to those 😅
I’ll keep my current display name for 30 days to give everyone time to recognise me and get used to the change, then shorten it to simply Nikfor. You can already find me across all my socials as @ItsNikfor, so finding me should be easier now.
And if some of you still want to call me Ashen One, I don’t mind!
As for my long-term plans, I’d like to make long-form YouTube videos eventually. That’s still a way off, but I’m slowly working towards it.
I’ll probably start in Greek, my native language, where I’d feel more comfortable and confident speaking. After that, I’d like to make videos in English, which would probably interest most of you, and potentially expand into German if there’s interest.
Maybe even Russian one day, if I have the motivation and get enough speaking practice :P I can understand almost everything in Russian, but I struggle to speak it because I’ve barely practised.
Each language would have its own separate channel, so you could follow the one that suits you.
These are long-term goals, so don’t expect anything to launch soon. I’m determined to get there, but building the confidence and skills will take time. I don’t want to rush it!
I’m also learning a new editing app, and that switch is much closer. I might start posting videos edited with it in the coming days, then fully switch over once I’m comfortable using it. I’ll still be learning at first, but I’ll improve with practice.
You might notice some minor changes to my current videos as I learn. The bigger goal is to try new video formats and do more creatively, but developing those will take much longer. I want the switch to help me expand what I can create, rather than simply spend more time making the same videos.
This is like FromSoftware announcing a €400 collector’s edition for Elden Ring without the game and giving you a random sheep statue instead of Malenia 😭
Dude, who’s buying this??
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: A closer in-hand look at the recently revealed ‘Macca the Gator’ figure, one of the standout collectibles included in Rockstar Games limited-edition GTA VI Collectors Edition Box priced at $400. 🐊 ⚡ @Thrill_com
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video is a digital render/fan creation from a self-described parody account, not a genuine in-hand look; the collection is pre-order only and ships November 19.

Just woke up after 16 hours of sleep, and this is the first thing I saw. Think I should’ve stayed asleep. 😂
$400, or €400 for us Europeans, for these items, and the game isn’t even included?
This is nowhere near the collector’s edition I wanted or expected for GTA VI. Nothing here screams “buy me,” especially at that price. Sadly, they went full-on greedy with this one.
Rockstar has revealed a GTA 6 collectors box for $400 — it does not include the game.
• A 6-inch Macca the Gator figure with a stash compartment
• GTA VI Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses
• A New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback hat
• A Leonida Keys crossbody bag
• A Macca the Gator magnetic mirror
• A Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
• A Vice City swizzle spoon
• A Vice City razor blade keychain
• Nine Leonida Keys enamel pins in a metal tin
• Stickers in a stash bag
• A double-sided poster with a full map of Leonida on the back
These facial animations, dude. Something so many games nowadays still struggle with.
Just started Control Resonant. Can’t wait to see what Remedy cooked.
Most reflections in Marvel’s Wolverine look really good, but every now and then you come across one like this.
I also included Fidelity Pro at the end for comparison, and the difference is pretty big, although of course it comes at the cost of FPS.
This giant squirrel covers its eyes before trying to blind me 😂
It also covers its nose when throwing a Poison Acorn to avoid its own gas. Love these details!
My own bow gameplay from Monster Fantasy’s pre-alpha preview. Really fun, and there are more bow moves I didn’t use!
You can even summon a dragon in Monster Fantasy.
This is from the pre-alpha preview I had the chance to play :P
The longer you watch, the crazier it gets 😂
More of my own melee gameplay from Monster Fantasy’s pre-alpha preview.
Some wild moves already. I’m curious to see the full game. Another video in 15 minutes.
I got to try Monster Fantasy's pre-alpha preview, and it looks really promising! Here's gameplay I recorded and edited, showing its spell-based combat.
You can combine elements to create spells like the one at the end. More gameplay every 15 minutes, so stay tuned :P
Which game would you like me to cover after I finish Wolverine?
Control Resonant or Silent Hill: Townfall?

Hope we get to see you as Logan again, Liam! 🙏🏻
Really happy to be part of this! I’ll be sharing my own gameplay footage from the indie games and previews I get to try. :)
First posts coming tomorrow! :P
Excited to welcome @AshenOne_VI as one of our Indie Game Advocates. 💪
Ashen covers gaming news, clips, and upcoming releases across PC, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox, and his social content and coverage is outstanding.
“I make time for indie games because they often take risks and bring ideas you just don’t see in bigger releases. I love discovering something creative or unexpected, then sharing those moments with people who might have otherwise missed the game. Giving good projects more eyes is always worth it.”
This is what being an Indie Game Advocates is all about.
Welcome, Ashen. 🫡
