The government speaks of a "slowdown", but blockades continue on the ground, and a national mobilization is scheduled for tomorrow. And Macron? A few perfunctory remarks, but still no official address to the nation. Strange, for someone who loves to talk. France has been in the streets for ten days, yet the President hasn't addressed the nation. Why?

On October 8, 2026, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for a coordinated EU strategy to counter Islamist entryism and the influence of Muslim Brotherhood-linked networks.
The resolution passed with 381 votes in favor, 167 against and 15 abstentions. Most national delegations of MEPs supported the proposal, while Spain and Finland stood out as the only countries where a majority voted against it.
The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt in 1928 and has since developed into a broader Islamist movement with affiliated or ideologically connected organizations in several countries.
The resolution focuses on what lawmakers describe as Islamist entryism, referring to attempts by Islamist networks to gain influence within political institutions, civil society organizations and other established structures.
It calls for greater scrutiny of EU funding, closer monitoring of related networks and an assessment of whether certain linked individuals or organizations should be considered for the EU terrorist list.
Importantly, the resolution is non-binding. It does not ban the Muslim Brotherhood or automatically designate any organization as terrorist.
The vote signals substantial support within the European Parliament for closer examination of these networks, although the proposed measures would require further action by EU institutions.
