Colorado DNA analyst Yvonne “Missy” Woods was sentenced to 10 years in prison after deleting male DNA from 32 rape cases and then reporting that none had been found.
For 29 years, she was the star expert for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). However, investigators now believe that 1,045 of her cases are tainted, with over 400 involving sexual assaults. One murder conviction has already been overturned.
An intern discovered her misconduct, and concerns had been raised over a decade earlier. Despite these concerns, she continued to test rape kits.
During her court appearance, supporters filled the room, while victims shouted “LIAR! LIAR! LIAR!” as she was cuffed and escorted out. As a result, Colorado is now retesting over 1,000 cases.

25-year-old Washington D.C. mother, Valencia Duke, is facing first-degree felony m—der charges after she allegedly abandoned her 13-month-old twins alone in her apartment for four days. When police arrived, her daughter Mazouri was found de–d and decomposing in a playpen.
Her twin brother was rushed to the hospital severely dehydrated and malnourished.
The medical examiner ruled Mazouri's passing a homicide caused by neglect. Duke has been ordered held without bond. To make matters worse, her attorney revealed in court that she is pregnant again.
