October saw continued attempts to tighten Israeli control over Masjid Al-Aqsa, with thousands of Israeli settlers entering the mosque compound, increasingly open displays of religious rituals, and mounting restrictions on Palestinian worshippers and Islamic Waqf staff.
This is part of a sustained effort to undermine the historic status quo at Al-Aqsa and weaken the role of the Islamic Waqf in administering the Masjid.

The Palestinian documentary Ash & Salt (Kül ve Tuz), which chronicles the lives and struggles of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amid Israel’s genocidal war, has won the Special Jury Award in the Documentary Competition at the 63rd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in Türkiye, held on October 31.
Directed by Çağatay Yurt and produced by Tunç Akkoç, the 48-minute film documents the stories of Palestinians striving to survive amid relentless destruction, including an artist, a firefighter, a paramedic, a baker, six orphaned children, and parents who lost their children.
Filmed over more than a year inside Gaza, the documentary features footage captured by Palestinian journalist Mahmoud Rostom, who sustained injuries twice while filming under dangerous conditions.

World Travel Market London is set to host the Israeli government tourist stand, featuring organisations responsible for the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory.
A tourism event cannot be used to promote Israel’s illegal tourist enterprise, to normalise occupation, or to platform the displacement and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
The UK government has committed to banning the advertising of illegal settlements. So why is one of London’s major international tourism events providing a platform to organisations linked to them?
Friends of Al-Aqsa is calling on World Travel Market to remove the Israeli government tourist stand and explain what steps it is taking to ensure its event does not promote or legitimise illegal settlements.

I can hardly imagine anyone who hasn’t seen this photograph. But it was taken on this day in 2000.
I cannot believe the photo is 26 years old now.
The boy in the photograph was Fares Odeh. He was just 14 years old.
Ten days after this image was captured, Fares went out again to throw stones at Israeli tanks, seeking to avenge the killing of his 17-year-old cousin.
An Israeli sniper shot him in the neck, killing him.
And there is another chilling detail to this photograph.
The photo changed Israeli tank doctrine. In August 2001, The Jerusalem Post quoted an anonymous tank doctrinist saying tank personnel were now instructed to fire upon rock-throwers.
