If reports are accurate that Rishi Sunak is about to announce an extension to the furlough scheme but cutting wage support to 60% without employers making up difference it means the government has adopted the basic principle of a time old policy of starving workers back to work.

If Amber Rudd can call for climate bailouts then Labour should go one step further and demand bailouts for workers and planet, not shareholders.

John Gummer quite right on @BBCr4today that post virus rebuild great opportunity to reduce U.K. carbon intensity. Some bail outs in other European countries have carbon reducing conditions- UK should do same.
