Brigadier Alfred Snow, the Crown’s Liberation Commander, ascended the steps of Elizabeth College, Guernsey, to declare the end of the German occupation and proclaim the restoration of British freedom.

Brigadier Snow whose recognition our campaign is fighting for,was entrusted with an extraordinary responsibility at the end of 5 years of Nazi occupation. As Commander of Force 135,he led the liberation of oversaw the removal & disarmament of Germans became Governor.
🪖The scale of the task to liberate the Channel Islands was immense. Led by Brigadier Ernest Snow OBE, a force of approximately 6,000 personnel & more than 50 vessels was deployed to secure the surrender of German forces and restore British authority across the occupied islands⚓
🎞️Our film about Brigadier Snow will now be released as part of the main campaign to secure the remembrance and recognition he deserves.
The campaign officially moves forward on 4 November, marking our mission to return Britain’s forgotten Liberation Commander to British memory.
