A TRAP ISN’T THE END OF THE STORY-IT’S THE BEGINNING OF A BETTER FUTURE. Humane trapping allows community cats to receive important vet care, vaccines, and SN surgery before returning to their outdoor homes. National Feral Cat Day is Oct.16th-you can help us keep this work going!

Momma Cat Janis is doing an amazing job with her five little ones—everyone is gaining weight and growing strong! At 3 weeks old--they are just starting to explore their kennel, but honestly, life is still mostly eating and sleeping. So glad this family is safe inside!
97 cats received the gift of spay/neuter this August, bringing our 2026 total to 522! On top of that, 33 sweet kittens were safely taken into foster care. So many precious lives changed! We are incredibly fortunate to have a community that stands up for community cats--thank you!
Philly was trapped today, but after seeing his front leg, it became clear that a simple TNVR was not an option for this kitten. Philly has a non-repairable broken elbow that will require amputation. If you would like to donate to his upcoming surgery—islandsferalcatproject.org/d…
June is officially coming to a close--IFCP's spay/neuter total for the month is 66 cats!! Bringing our total for 2026 to 372!! Here are some of the newest members of our Clipped Ear Club!!
At IFCP, our favorite part of TNVR is always the R—the return. This is because we are taking the cats back to their “home” and they get to enjoy just being a cat. This video really captures the essence of “just being a cat”. How would you caption the video?
IFCP brought Momma Extra and her 6 newborn kittens into the rescue during our “unmother’s day” campaign. One of Extra's kittens is currently at the ER vet fighting pneumonia. Please send happy healing thoughts his way.
It is always nice to get pictures from the feeder of the cats we have TNVR’d! This was our huge “un-mother’s day” project. We are technically still working on it..as we have two momma cats with kittens in foster. The mommas will return home once the kittens are weaned!!
As we head to the beach and the barbeques this weekend, please take some time to remember and thank those in the armed forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country.
Happy Memorial Day
IFCP had a very busy Mother’s Day trapping week--24 cats TNVR'd. Intake into foster (this week)—2 litters of 3 kittens, a momma cats with 4 kittens, and a momma cat with 6 kittens. Lots of lives saved and lots of lives improved. Thanks to all who support us as we help the cats!
Thanks to everyone who has already purchased a square for our "unmother's day" campaign. We have 4 days left--and 13 empty squares! Can you help us help the community cats? These are some of the momma cats we have helped over the years!! islandsferalcatproject.org/d…
We are thankful for the much needed rain in Georgia. Rain, however, is not a friend to momma cats trying to raise their kittens outside. $55 can stop this cycle. islandsferalcatproject.org/d…
IFCP is wrapping up TNVR for the month of April. They say that April showers bring May flowers, We hope that April spays help keep the kittens away!!! 58 cats received the gift of spay/neuter this month—bring our total for 2026 to 247!! Remember if you feed them...fix them!
We bring her treats...feed her yummy wet food multiple times a day, but momma cat still hates me!! I'm not taking it personally, she is just doing her job as a protective momma and feeding her babies--which at 3 weeks old are all healthy weight358 g, 378 g and a whopping 425g!!!
Mistletoe has been my best momma cat ever!! She made weaning easy for me and her babies. At two months the kittens still try to get a milk snack from her!! Holly had to endure a bath this morning to get one!!
