This is a country where you need to be “brave” to say there is air pollution in Delhi. This environment has enfeebled an already ineffective state machinery. The governments good news only policy is a hurdle to dealing with difficult problems.

When we stop being critical of our own government, if we leave open the space for constructive questioning, someone or the other will take over that space, right or wrong. If we want to shape our own future, if is for us to do better and hold our government accountable.

Government is actively solving the overpopulation problem by reducing our population with smog
Monthly cost of basic asthma control:
•Controller inhaler (Foracort): ₹250–₹350
•Rescue inhaler (Levolin): ₹150–₹250
•Occasional nebulizer use + meds: ₹300–₹600
•Nebulizer machine (one-time): ₹1,200–₹2,000.
This will mean that there are many families in Delhi who will not be able to give their children the help they need. Untreated asthma can be fatal. There will be some for whom the choice will be between saving their children and having a meal. This is the real cost that we are imposing on our people.
The government has so far not even taken preventative measures like closing schools or asking children to mask up.
Governance failures have real world consequences and such failures ought not be forgotten or forgiven.

We have elections in this country but not accountable governance. No one sees the need to actually address this issue. The Delhi CM is out distributing electric heaters. That’s the level of seriousness. No one senior to her in the BJP has sought to address the issue.
Best thing for Pakistan would be to just accept being a separate country is not working out and join the Indian republic. They will get better GDP, better government, better courts and institutions and better leaders (than what they have).

This goes to show we lack political with anything close to a spine. Your local MLA is happily buying air purifiers with your money but is fine to see you and your children choke on this.

This is not Modijis job to stop pollution in Delhi. Though expressing concern will get the state machinery moving. This is with the CAQM and Rekhaji. Who between them seem to have fewer brain cells than a goldfish.
