Islam reached Somaliland way before you even knew how to tie a string in the failed state of Somalia and you were idol worshippers in Somalia while in Somaliland we already had Jews and Christians living here and once Islam came they accepted it with no problem , many prominent Islamic scholars are from Somaliland, you even have Somalian Sunnis who come to Somalilander scholars to study under them because Somalia is a Sufi nation and is not upon the real Islam. Remember who you are referencing to as Jews and I have no problem with Bani Israel or Jews but seems like your using their name loosely and using it to promote your anti semitic , Al shabab terrorist narratives.

“The second generation of Somalilanders” understands that national identity is not only about history and heritage, but also about how a nation presents itself and is perceived by the world.
A name shapes a country’s identity, international image, and diplomatic positioning. If we want to strengthen Somaliland’s case for international recognition, we must be willing to discuss these questions seriously.
My proposal: The Republic of Adal.
A name rooted in our history and heritage, while establishing a distinct identity for our future on the international stage.
This is not about abandoning our past. It is about building on it and defining how the world understands us.
It’s time to have this conversation seriously.

Adal was a relatively recent sultanate. Our history stretches back thousands of years, long BEFORE Adal ever existed.
We have ancient rock arts and cave paintings across Somaliland dating back thousands of years, some estimated to be 7000 10000 years old & oldest book written by Greek travellers were writing about our land nearly 2000 years ago.
Our history did not begin with Adal, so why should our identity be limited to it? We should go much further back and choose a name that reflects how ancient our land and history really are.
