This month, I stayed with TEGNA and moved back home to Grand Rapids, Michigan where I'm working at WZZM 13. Currently I'm paid, $24.04 hourly, which is about $50,000 before overtime for the roll of Story Desk Editor.

Some pay transparency: - Got ~$12.50 an hour at The Golden Triangle (6 months) - Started $14 per hour at Press-Citizen, upped to $15 during 2020 protests (2 years) - I started at $18 per hours at the Register, got a raise to ~$19.20 in June but was furloughed for a week in Dec.

After LV closed its Des Moines offices in 2023, 8 months after hiring me, I went to WOI Local 5 in Des Moines. There I was paid $21.60 hourly, about $44,928 before factoring in overtime. I received an average pay raise of about 3% per year.
