Ever seen a many-plumed moth? Alucitidae are recognised by their modified wings consisting of 6 rigid spines on each forewing and hindwing. Each spine is lined with flexible bristles, creating a structure similar to that of a bird's feather. Look closer!

The Game of Thrones theme was composed by Ramin Djawadi, who is of Iranian descent. Hearing this melody played with Persian instruments and the daf drum is absolutely beautiful.

Loggerhead sea turtles 🐢 don’t just migrate willy-nilly. As it turns out, they follow a narrow band of ideal chlorophyll and heat levels—which stretches across the Pacific and moves north and south with the seasons! In honor of #WorldSeaTurtleDay, see how data collected from tagged turtles and @NOAA’s #satellites reveals this migration pattern!

📍 Zuleta, Ecuador

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

Not many know this because there’s no dive tourism, but the Persian Gulf is full of coral — not just any coral, but heat-tolerant genotypes biologists use in reef restoration. It’s home to over 700 fish species and the world’s second largest population of dugongs. Say a prayer.
