Our first book club was a success! We read Night Chef and brought the book to life with a trail mix snack, decorated chef hats, discussed the story, and had fun with “Would You Rather?” questions. We wrapped up by revealing our next book! @LivelyEagles @IrvingLibraries

Students accessed over 62k resources this six weeks--covering topics from Arthurian Legend to The Lost Boys of Sudan. In the library, that includes responding to open ended questions to help build background for in class texts. In the library, we read AND write! @IrvingLibraries

@ES_Farine students used reading comprehension skills as they retold the story of, I Am La Chiva. Students mapped out the story sequence and used @Ozobot to create the path of the bus! We tied cultural stories and ELA to celebrate HHM! @IrvingISD @IrvingLibraries
