A magnetic storm on the Sun, frozen in a single dark eye.
This sunspot looks black only by comparison. Its umbra is still thousands of degrees hot — just cooler than the boiling photosphere around it, because intense magnetic fields stand almost straight out of the surface and choke the rising columns of superheated plasma. Those same convective cells, blocked inside the spot, keep bubbling freely outside it, stitching the restless, rice-grain pattern of granulation you see at the edges.
The image was taken in near-ultraviolet light at 396.8 nm — close to the calcium H line — on 2 July 2010 with the Swedish 1-metre Solar Telescope at Roque de los Muchachos on La Palma.

दिल्ली में हुई गैंगरेप की घटना ने पूरे देश को शर्मसार कर दिया है।
ये शर्मनाक वारदात कालकाजी मंदिर के पास पार्क में हुई- जहां एक नाबालिग लड़की के साथ तीन दरिंदों ने गैंगरेप किया।
हैवानियत को अंजाम देने के बाद इन तीनों ने खुद को पुलिसकर्मी बताकर पीड़िता के दोस्त को धमकाया और उसे अपना मुंह बंद रखने को कहा।
ये घटना देश की राजधानी में न सिर्फ ध्वस्त लॉ एंड ऑर्डर, बल्कि महिला सुरक्षा के बड़े-बड़े दावों की भी पोल खोलती है।
साफ है- 'डबल इंजन' सरकार में महिलाएं असुरक्षित हैं और BJP ने उन्हें उनके हाल पर छोड़ दिया है।
शर्म आनी चाहिए!
एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक दिल्ली की 70 में से 68 विधानसभा सीटों पर हटाए गए वोटर्स की जो संख्या है, वो 2025 के चुनावी जीत के अंतर से ज्यादा है।
दिल्ली की जो वोटर लिस्ट थी उसमें 47.6 है, चलिए 47 बोलते हैं। अगर 47 लाख नाम गलत थे दिल्ली की वोटर लिस्ट में—लोग मर चुके थे, लोग ट्रांसफर हो चुके थे, लोग परमानेंट शिफ्ट हो चुके थे—तो इसका मतलब दिल्ली का चुनाव तो रद्द हो जाना चाहिए। क्योंकि ये फ़िक्टिशियस (fictitious) 47 लाख वोटर्स ने तो वोट डाला, और उसी के बाद सरकार बनी। तो ये सरकार ही अवैध है क्योंकि ये सब लोग तो फ़िक्टिशियस थे, 47 लाख लोग तो घोस्ट्स (ghosts) थे, जो उसका हिस्सा बन गए।
मतलब असलियत ये है कि वन वोट, वन पर्सन (One Vote, One Person) का जो कॉन्सेप्ट है—और ये कॉन्सेप्ट हमें हमारे संविधान ने दिया है—और इस वोट की ताकत प्रधानमंत्री के वोट की, दैनिक मजदूर के वोट की, नरीमन पॉइंट के सबसे अमीर आदमी, और रिक्शा चलाने वाले के वोट की ताकत एक है। लेकिन वीआईपी (VIP) लोगों के नाम के लिए प्रेस रिलीज़ निकाली जाएगी, 'वीआईपी मार्क्ड पर्संस' (VIP marked persons) कहा जाएगा, उनके नाम चार-चार घंटे में जुड़ जाएंगे, और बाकी लोगों के जो नाम हैं वो लगे रहेंगे।
बंगाल में लोगों के नाम कटे। एक ट्रिब्यूनल की मीटिंग में 90% नाम वापस जुड़ गए। तो जिन 90% लोगों ने बंगाल के चुनाव में वोट नहीं दिया, उनके वोट को छीनने का हक किसको मिला है इस देश में?
कल चुनाव आयोग ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में कहा है, हमें 12 साल लग जाएँगे ट्रिब्यूनल में लोगों की अपील सुनने के लिए।
मतलब लोगों को जो एक यूनिवर्सल एडल्ट फ्रेंचाइज (Universal Adult Franchise)—भारत जब आजाद हुआ, इस देश के संविधान ने न लिंग देखी, न भाषा देखी, न जाति देखी, न धर्म देखा, न प्रांत देखा—आपको एक वोट दिया। उस वोट को खत्म करने के लिए सारी कवायद है एसआईआर (SIR) की।
हिंदुस्तान में 95 करोड़ (94.78 करोड़) वोटर जनरल इलेक्शन में थे। जिसमें से 31 राज्यों और यूनियन टेरिटरीज में थर्ड फेज ऑफ एसआईआर (Third Phase of SIR) के बाद 13.8 करोड़, करीब-करीब 15 प्रतिशत वोटर्स डिलीट कर दिए गए।

हिमाचल में युवा कांग्रेस की जिम्मेदारी सिर्फ संगठन तक सीमित नहीं है। सरकार और जनता के बीच मजबूत bridge बनना और जनहित की योजनाओं को हर व्यक्ति तक पहुंचाना भी हमारी जिम्मेदारी है।

पंजाब में पुलिसकर्मियों को सार्वजनिक जगहों, निजी वाहनों और थाने आने के दौरान वर्दी न पहनने की हिदायत दी गई है।
ये निर्देश उस घटना के बाद दिए गए, जिसमें एक ASI की हत्या कर दी गई थी।
यह बहुत ही गंभीर मामला है, जिस पर AAP सरकार को जवाब देना होगा, क्योंकि सवाल पंजाब की सुरक्षा करने वाले पुलिसकर्मियों का है।
ये दिखाता है कि पंजाब में पूरी तरह से माफियाराज हावी है और AAP सरकार पूरी तरह से नाकाम है।
केजरीवाल और भगवंत मान दावे तो हवा-हवाई करते हैं, लेकिन ध्वस्त लॉ एंड ऑर्डर की असलियत अब सबके सामने है।

It's horrible. The crimes against women are just increasing. Violence against women has become more frequent, and they are feeling unsafe.
There’s no point in talking about big schemes and programmes if we can’t even ensure the safety of women on streets.
The State Governments, and especially the Central Government, need to think about how they are going to ensure that women feel safe.
