At 09:43 the firefighters are talking about setting up a “staging area” and are in the process of moving the injured down to the 40th floor where the elevator are apparently still working and everything is deemed safe enough for injured people to await medical help.
At 09:52, the Battalion Seven Chief radios Ladder 15 that he’s reached the 78th floor where he reports numerous dead bodies (“10-45 Code Ones”), and “two isolated pockets of fire” that he thinks “we should be able to knock it down with two lines.”

It’s pretty clear from these that the men sent in to deal with the fires did not foresee any imminent collapse and indeed seem to be viewing the situation as well within their control.

Of 15,005 households waiting:
8,706 are Irish = 58%
6,299 are non-Irish = 42%
Somali households alone account for 1,320 applicants = 8.8% of the entire list.
The non-Irish share of accepted housing offers rose from 21.8% in 2023 to 32.9% in 2025. Approved Housing Bodies now provide almost 63% of all accepted offers.
Yet Dublin City Council admits it does not monitor allocation outcomes or waiting times by nationality.
It cannot tell us who waits longest, who refuses offers, why AHB nominations fail, or properly explain these enormous demographic changes.
A housing system distributing thousands of homes should not operate without transparent data.
