Thank you for following along. One more debate to come next week. Thank you for watching and reading.

McGowan: as an economic development person, it is bipartisan effort. To get jobs created, you have to work together.
121
Civility in race and in Congress? Dawson: I worked with other party before. Getting to know people and find common ground.
164
Dawson: We have an income cap - lift it.
257
Raising retirement age Dawson: I've been paying in, so I'm in the system. We need to have pay on entire income. McGowan: Not change for those in the system now. Not enrolled yet - look for a change.
144
Payroll tax adjustments for Social Security McGowan: We have to protect Social Security for all participating. Look at the future - our advances in life to expand expectancy - that sets up a crisis ahead. Trouble ahead without a bipartisan effort to fix.
139
Dawson: The regulations on coal fire plants need to stay and they should be compliant. High gas is on Iran, not a pipeline from years ago.
145
McGowan: I'm an advocate for robust energy policy. Providers have balanced their portfolios.
120
Coal fired power plants - energy rules McGowan: We need to increase our access to energy. If we would have built Keystone Pipeline, we wouldn't have the $6 diesel prices we do today.
132
Pipeline McGowan: Iowans have been clear on property rights. We can't expand markets at the expense of personal values and rights. Public use and purpose discussion.
120
Pipeline Dawson: I think the state should use eminent domain for out of state companies. People's property right is personal and not taken for out of state interests.
144
McGowan: FEMA not run well at this time. We have obligation to do better.

McGowan: Government not doing enough to help the 4th district. We have to do better. This is where the federal government has a role to provide relief from flooding.
181
Flooding FEMA Dawson: We need to reform FEMA. This needs to work better. Audits on money being spent accurately. Shouldn't have to wait years for checks.
149
McGowan: The House has passed the bill. Our state lawmakers have done well. We could use more support in the House and we need the Senate to pick this up.
254
Farm Bill bridge to passing Dawson: This has been expired for 3 years. Hard to plan with no bill. I want to make sure we are moving forward on this farm bill. Not enough for supplemental food programs.
122
No Private equity owners Dawson: We need to make sure we have small farms. Owners live in the state - we have too many absent land owners. Where are there interest in support the land. I'm for a ban on this - this would help younger farmers.
144
McGowan: I'm proud in what ag has done for Iowa. We can do more loans from USDA to help.
