At around the 1:00 mark, an officer can clearly be heard saying “he just ran into one of my officers.” But from the footage, and from the overwhelming reaction I’ve seen online, the vast majority of people simply do not believe this elderly man drove into a police officer, including myself. Now we need to know who this man is, what happened after his arrest, and whether he has actually been charged with anything. If police are alleging that he deliberately drove into an officer, the evidence needs to support that allegation. This whole incident feels deeply wrong. There needs to be a proper investigation and complete transparency about what happened here.
