The Ringmaster nodded in satisfaction. Every one of the performers had delivered a flawless performance that night. So flawless, in fact, that the spark of excitement within him only burned brighter. “I believe your wonderful enthusiasm, along with the long journey you have taken to arrive here, must have left you rather exhausted today, haha! But do not worry, for this Circus is not a wonder meant to last only a single day! The true performance will only begin tomorrow!”

Last but not least, the spotlight shone on a white-haired figure with a mysterious smile. In his hands rested two—or perhaps six?—razor-sharp blades. With effortless elegance, he swept them open in a graceful flourish, the steel fanning out and folding back together in such fluid succession that it became impossible to tell where one blade ended and another began. Even so, the audience's attention was slowly drawn towards his eyes. His irises carried an unusual array of colours, like a living painting that continued to dance behind his gaze. Too beautiful to be called ordinary, yet too unfamiliar to be called human. “Bonsoir, mes chéris~ Malloy Reias here, and we are going to have some fun~ Oh, but don't worry, these knives won't hurt you,” The corners of his lips twitched, slowly curling into a sly grin, “...maybe~?”

At another corner of the stage, a small figure slowly stepped forward. From a distance, his thick white hair resembled the mane of a lion, making his silhouette appear almost like that of a wild beast. However, as he drew closer, it became clear that the figure was none other than a young man. Even so, the strands of white fur that still adorned his body ensured that the feral impression never truly faded. With a wide grin that revealed two sharp canines, he lightly leapt onto a small, raised platform. He performed a smooth forward flip through the air, landing effortlessly without losing balance in the slightest. “Nice to meet you! Ra Briezt! BRIEZT IS MY NAME! A lion? A human? Whatever! You can see me as anything you want!”

Before the guests' attention could fully drift away from the Jester, another performer stepped forward and seized the spotlight. His body began to twist into almost impossible arcs, moving in harmony with the hula hoops spinning around him. Every motion displayed a flexibility that defied the limits of the human form, with joints bending at angles that inspired both admiration and an uneasy ache that slowly crept down the spines of those watching. For a moment, one might find themselves wondering whether the human body was ever meant to move in such a way. “Théo Tanneux,” With little expression, he returned his body to an upright position and raised a gesture of salute, “The Acrobat.”

“HAHAHAHAHAHA! SUCH WONDERFUL ENTHUSIASM! THE MASTER JESTER IS HERE, READY TO ENTERTAIN YOU ALL! NYAHAHAHAHA!” His boisterous laughter resounded, a wide grin stretched across his face. Far too wide, as though it had never been meant to disappear. Even after his laughter came to an end, the grin remained. Somehow, the longer one looked at him, the harder it became to imagine what his face would look like without it.

Questions of where this Circus originated, or why they had been chosen as its guests, were of little importance. After all, was the only thing that truly mattered not the spectacle that awaited them on this opening night? The host bowed briefly in a gesture of greeting. His grin widened further, and with a booming voice that echoed throughout the hall, he spoke once more. “The Ringmaster, East A. Lamnt Vough, is here! Haha!”

His arms spread wide as a deck of playing cards shot into the air, whirling around him like a swarm of enraged bees. In the next instant, the cards froze in mid-air, suspended around him as though framing the very figure commanding the stage. “Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the 𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐒!”
