‼️NEW: Albertans Have Spoken! ...and early results show they have REJECTED the Federal government's UN/Globalist migration pacts! In Monday’s referendum, Albertans backed taking greater provincial control over immigration to cut intake to more sustainable levels, prioritize economic migrants, and put Albertans first for jobs. This is a clear rejection of Ottawa’s high-volume approach .....shaped by international frameworks. Alberta is asserting that local capacity, housing, healthcare, and wages come first, not elite Davos/UN-style pacts that override provincial realities. The Question was: "Do you support the Government of Alberta taking increased control over immigration for the purposes of decreasing immigration to more sustainable levels, prioritizing economic migration and giving Albertans first priority on new employment opportunities?"

Don't think Halliburton CEO would assume a flat North American frac market if that wasn't the directional feedback they are getting from oil & gas companies for 2027. "Based on our early outlook for 2027, I expect mid-single digit revenue growth and operating margins of about 15%, an approximately 200 basis point improvement. This outlook assumes a flat North America market and does not require any recovery in North America hydraulic fracturing. To us, that recovery is purely upside,” concluded Miller." 🇨🇦 Canada is dropping the LMIA requirement for qualifying Express Entry job offers from November 3. The Canadian-worker availability test is being removed from that pathway, while Ottawa will still check whether offers are genuine. A real job offer and a shortage of Canadian workers are two different things.

The upper end of Ottawa's inflation target is 3%. The rate has been above that for 4 of the last 6 months. Ottawa knows that inflation is climbing. They also know what is causing it, and how to curb it. But they're doing nothing.

THE UK WELFARE STATE IS BONKERS (Welfare pays more than many jobs) "Some 7m people, or more than 10% of the population, now claim one or more sickness or disability benefits with the number rising fastest among working-age people, up more than 60% in the past six years from 2.9m in 2019 to 4.7m in 2025. The UK is due to spend more than £100bn on such benefits this year (see Exhibit 17). A minimum-wage worker who works 40 hours per week will receive take home pay of around £1,880 a month after tax. However, if a person is classified as too sick to work and claim so-called Personal Independence Payments (PIPs), that person can earn £2,000 tax free per month. PIP is a tax-free welfare benefit in the UK intended to help working-age people with the extra costs of living caused by a disability or long-term physical or mental health condition." -Greed and Fear

That the LongWave Thesis, if it's not a credit bubble, then rising interest should have NO impact on prices. As occurred during the Up-Wave between 1946-1981

Ben Horrowitz says AI is different from the dotcom bubble because this time there's a supply shortage, not a lack of demand "This shortage is so bad, I was speaking with Andy Jassy who runs Amazon yesterday. And I said, 'yeah, we're out of everything until 2028'. He's like, 'Oh, it's beyond 2028. End of 2028, maybe. So everything else is sold out.'" "So he has the advantage of that he's got supply in a great shortage, which is extremely different than the internet bubble. The internet bubble, we didn't have enough demand because we had to build the internet, people had to get broadband." "You needed all this stuff, people had to get their browser app, etc. There weren't enough consumers on the internet to absorb all the bandwidth that had gotten built out." "And they had a massive amount of debt, not unlike what we're building today, although not as big. But the lack of demand killed it. We don't really have a lack of demand in AI. So I think the dynamics will be different." "I do think that for sure if you get into a pathological debt situation, that can wreck anybody. It's why, by the way, we're not invested in any of these neoclouds either, for that reason, because that whole thing scares me, having been through it."

🇺🇸 Waymo targets Toronto robotaxi rides in 2028 and plans hundreds of local roles with partners. Driverless isn’t workerless. For Canadian workers, the opportunity shifts toward fleet upkeep and operations not just the driver’s seat.🇨🇦 Source: Waymo. 2028 plan. Oct. 16, 2026.
Waymo is coming to Toronto The self-driving taxi company says it has provincial approval to join Ontario’s Automated Vehicle Pilot Program. Testing with drivers behind the wheel starts soon as it maps the city. Passenger service is targeted for 2028 — a first for Canada Waymo already operates in multiple U.S. cities. Autonomous trucks have previously run in Toronto under the same pilot (link to details in reply)

France's welfare state is unaffordable!
France already has one of the world's most expensive welfare states. An aging population will push social spending even higher, potentially to a staggering 37% of GDP. France will need the ECB to step in to prevent a full-blown sovereign debt crisis. From the book:
