When a first-time voter asked what matters most for the younger generation heading into the midterms, Kolvet gave an answer that brought the audience to its feet in applause.
The timing made it even more powerful.
It came after Grace Mausser, co-chair of the NYC Democratic Socialists of America, declared that “the American dream’s gone.”
