But before you panic-sell your stack, look at the quantity—& what happened to it. 🔬CERN reported that lead-beam interactions across the four major LHC experiments produced gold nuclei equivalent to about 29 trillionths of a gram during its 2015–2018 run. 👉The gold lasted a tiny fraction of a second before hitting accelerator equipment & breaking apart. 👉Real nuclear transmutation... Zero gold bars to sell. 🏭Marathon Fusion has modeled a way to turn mercury into gold using fusion neutrons. It has not demonstrated this production process in a working reactor, & there is no assurance it will ever become commercially viable. 👉The projected output depends on assumptions about a specialized fusion system, processing equipment & operating conditions that don't even exist yet. 🚨90 Years Ago Today, France Moved to Devalue the Franc. Then It Targeted Private Gold!🪙 🪙This Day In Sound Money History: September 25 👉1936: France was losing gold as people exchanged francs for gold or foreign currency, worried the franc would be devalued. On September 25, France announced plans to change the franc’s value, while the US & Britain joined it in a pledge to steady exchange rates. This became known as the Tripartite Agreement. 👉The next day, France effectively suspended its gold standard. It no longer had to exchange francs for gold at the old fixed rate. The franc did not become worthless, but devaluation meant that gold and foreign currency cost more francs. Anyone who had moved out of francs beforehand was better protected from that change. Prices later rose too, though the devaluation was only one cause. 👉1873: A banking panic drained cash from New York banks. After they restricted cash payments on September 24, certified checks could no longer be treated quite like currency in hand. On September 25, newspapers reported people paying a premium for cash over those checks.
