Unexpected follow-up to our Avian Dwelling Unit joke!
Cupertino has very strict "Bird-safe Development Requirements" for ADUs (and all new housing).
All project applications will include "Elevation drawings indicating the bird-safe treatment and how the proposed treatment meets the requirements of Section 19.102.030(B) and (D)", cross sections when necessary, and a report from a biologist if you're proposing alternatives...

While Woodside abuts and contains mountain lion habitat, a blanket prohibition against adding an additional unit on an already developed parcel anywhere in the town is neither required by the California Endangered Species Act, nor contributing to the protection of mountain lions.
