COMP season comments Number 4: I’m working with a lot of different judges this season- new & experienced. I learned that my experience with someone may be different than someone else’s experience. Also, u can disagree on some topics & agree on others & still be an effective panel
COMP season comments Number 3: Students comparing solos: a .25 difference between your Jazz & Lyrical solos in the same medal standing means they were about the same calibre. More than 2 point difference /different medal standing? That is when you can suggest 1 piece is superior.
COMP season comments Number 2: As a dancer it is tough to compare your scores from one comp to the next to track progress. They often have different processes, scoring and judges. Instead, work on set skills with your teacher or aim to never get the same correction from a judge!
I’m back! COMP season comments Number 1: Just know, I will never deduct points if you slip and fall during your dance! Dancers who fall… if you aren’t injured, just get back up in character, like nothing happened, keep going and your score won’t change.

I wish ppl in the dance industry would stop w/ this elitist attitude/creating a hierarchy of “professional” dance work. I’ve seen amazing cruise ship shows & dancers. I’ve also seen terrible shows on major stages. IF👏U👏ARE👏LIVING👏on👏your👏DANCE👏INCOME👏u r👏a👏PROFESSIONAL!
