There's no Wi-Fi in space, so how does an AI work up there?
Mistral's models now run on satellites, so the AI has to think on board instead of phoning a big server.
Same trick is coming to your phone: AI that still works when your signal drops.
Why does the same question get a different AI answer each time?
The bot doesn't look up one stored reply. It picks each next word from likely options, with a bit of randomness on purpose.
So if an answer matters, ask twice. If they disagree, check it.
Two AI companies just asked the government to make rules for them.
OpenAI and Anthropic told UK lawmakers voluntary safety promises aren't enough. Google DeepMind and Meta didn't back new laws.
The labs are split on who should check AI.
Four Google AI agents beat Minecraft in 27 hours with no human help. Here's the rest of today:
2. Claude designed quantum circuits that beat the best published ones.
3. ChatGPT can now run several agents on one task at once.
4. Replit can now run inside a company's own cloud.
Here's how people copy an AI without stealing a single line of code.
They ask it millions of questions, save every answer, then train a cheaper copy on those answers.
Anthropic says it's now much harder to do to Claude. That's why AI companies guard answers, not just code.
An AI guessed what was wrong with real patients, and matched the doctor's final call 90% of the time.
It didn't replace anyone. It chatted with patients before the visit, so doctors walked in already prepared.
That's the AI shift most people will feel first.

Ask it to circle the crack in a wall, find the loose cable, or spot your cat in a messy room, and it marks the exact place.
14 months ago Meta was rebuilding its AI from scratch.
This week it launched Muse Wonder and calls it its most capable model yet.
Plain English: in AI, falling behind is not the end. One year can flip who looks like the leader. Who's next to come back?

Steal the vocabulary, not the vibe. One haunting token under each frame beats a 40-line prompt that nobody can remake. xitter.cf/ai_artworkgen/status/2…
Browser layer. Sandbox. Eval. This is the agent stack shop window. Beginner cut: pick the layer that is blocking you this week, not all three toys at once.
Microsoft Copilot just grew a night shift. Autopilot: name it, give it a job and a goal, it keeps working while you sleep and shows up in Teams. Home folds chat, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint into one place. Preview. You still own the morning inbox.
GPT-6 Cyber talk is heating up for Tuesday. Skip the jargon. Ask one question: does it stop you from falling for a fake login, or is it another tool only IT teams open?
This is the demo beginners actually get. Same tower ask. Four models. Real cost and time on the table. Watching Opus win the 3D race beats another vague model chart.
Someone asked Opus 5.5, GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6 Sol and Kimi K3 to build the Eiffel Tower in Three.js, and Opus 5.5 came out on top for frontend and 3D detail at $8.95 and 10 minutes.
→ Opus 5.5 cost $8.95 and took 10 minutes, and was preferred over GPT-6 Astra for this task
→ GPT-6 Astra cost $7.45 and took 8 minutes
→ GPT-6 Sol was the cheapest and fastest at $3.90 and 5 minutes, but gave the most disappointing result
→ Kimi K3 delivered a strong tower for $4.04 in 6 minutes, less than half of Opus 5.5's cost
Claude found a new enzyme system hiding in phage DNA. Beginner takeaway: these models are not only chat toys. Sometimes they help scientists notice a pattern a human skimmed past.
This is the AI use case normal people actually feel. Not another coding bill. A poem you always meant to understand, opened with paths, notes, and audio. That is how beginners fall in love with the tools.
AI can be a really wonderful tool for exploring topics far from coding.
I had Claude Fable 5.1 put together an annotated guide to Eliot's poem "The Wasteland," with multiple pathways through the poem, recordings, scholarship, etc. I am quite impressed. the-waste-land.netlify.app/
Grok 4.7 just landed in Cursor at the same price and speed as 4.6. Skip the leaderboard noise. Watch one messy ticket end to end. Did the agent finish, or stall halfway again?
Beginner take: a wet lab means Claude is not only chatting about biology. Anthropic is putting the model next to real experiments. Chatbots write. Labs test. That gap is where both the upside and the risk get real.
Anthropic is diving headfirst into frontier biotech
they just confirmed a physical wet lab in the Bay Area where Claude can orchestrate real biological experiments using liquid handlers, robotic arms and other lab equipment
and I think there's a bigger pattern here.
1) Ginkgo is already running autonomous labs doing tens of thousands of experiments in closed-loop cycles, with AI designing and analyzing the next round.
2) Anthropic published its Model Hardware Standard in August, basically giving AI agents a way to talk directly to lab hardware.
3) NVIDIA and Lilly are building a $1B AI co-innovation lab around agentic wet labs and physical AI.
4) and Isomorphic Labs is pushing its AI-designed drugs toward human trials by the end of 2026.
four different companies with four different ways into the problem but the same basic loop which is:
AI → design → experiment → data → learn → repeat
we're building AI that understands biology then giving it hands
