🆕New publication out!
"Minimising insect mortality during grassland mowing: The potential of insect chasing devices" 🐞🦗🚜

Our new publication is online doi.org/10.1111/1365-2664.14…
Here's what we found:
1️⃣ Mowing in general significantly reduces arthropod numbers compared to unmown controls.
2️⃣Double-blade bar mowers, often considered "insect-friendly," were no better than conventional disc mowers.

Evaluation of direct effects of two common mowing techniques on grassland arthropod fauna 🐛
Shows that mowing harms arthropods regardless of technique used. Suggests unmown refugia should be considered to provide shelter & support recolonisation 🐞
