Lisandro Martinez has been the worst player in the Premier League so far this season.
Heβs now been the main man responsible for United dropping points in three matches, and his latest embarrassment at Stamford Bridge on Saturday came in three instalments.
Quite why Martinez is playing so badly is up for debate, but this canβt go on. Manchester United canβt field a player who is constantly costing them with errors that, more than anything else, look like his heart isnβt in it.
π @Zonal_Marking on the issue with Martinez.

He did resign citing principles. On 1 Nov 2018 he stated the DA caucus blocking disposal of the City-owned Salt River Market/Woodstock site for affordable housing was the final straw. He said he could not in good conscience keep promising communities integration and housing while projects were stopped behind the scenes, and that the party had abandoned its own manifesto commitments on freedom, fairness, opportunity and diversity.

Brett Herron was Cape Town MMC for Transport & Urban Development (incl. housing/spatial planning) under the DA from 2017 until resigning in Nov 2018. Tafelberg was a provincial (not City) site sold in 2015β17. He had no decision-making role in that sale.
He drove the Cityβs parallel push for affordable housing on well-located public land (e.g. Salt River/Woodstock sites), the same principle at stake in Tafelberg. In a 2017 interview he noted the Cityβs own sites were viable despite size claims used against Tafelberg. De Lilleβs admin offered to develop it for housing if transferred. He later framed the 2026 ConCourt ruling as vindication of that approach.
