I imagine it’s kind of like trimming the dead leaves off a plant. I think it’s ok for a creator to course correct the fandom, to prevent them from going too far off the rails. Sometimes it’s hard to hold your tongue when people misinterpret your work 😅so it doesnt bother me tbh
