BRO Greenfield Road Project in Arunachal Pradesh
@BROindia has floated an EPC tender for a 58.907 km greenfield road under Project Arunank.
Route: Nacho-Bangte-Neying, Arunachal Pradesh.
Estimated cost: ₹498.89 crore.
Executing unit: 128 Road Construction Company (RCC), under 23 Border Roads Task Force
(BRTF).
Bid submission deadline: 7 December 2026.
The Centre has approved 45 rural road projects covering 509.54 km at a cost of ₹710.40 crore in Mizoram under PMGSY-IV for FY 2026-27.
The projects will provide all-weather road connectivity to 48 previously unconnected habitations, improving access to schools, hospitals and rural markets.
Separately, 367 roads covering 4,935 km and seven bridges worth ₹3,412 crore have already been sanctioned in the state under PMGSY.
Northern Bullet Train Corridor to Connect Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
Proposed route: Delhi-Agra-Kanpur-Lucknow-Ayodhya-Varanasi-Patna, with a planned extension towards Guwahati.
The corridor is expected to connect major cities across western, central and eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar.
NKC Projects has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the ₹2,423 crore Package 4 of a greenfield high-speed corridor along NH-6.
The project involves four-laning with paved shoulders on the Mawlyngkhung (near Shillong, Meghalaya)-Panchgram (near Silchar, Assam) stretch under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
Nitin Gadkari has proposed not issuing challans to cars travelling up to 20% above the 120 kmph expressway speed limit, effectively allowing speeds of up to 140 kmph.
However, the proposal faces legal and road-safety challenges, as existing rules permit only a 5% margin. Experts warn that higher speeds could increase crash risks and fatalities, noting that over 58% of road crash deaths in India in 2024 were linked to speeding. Any relaxation would require legal changes and scientific safety assessments.
Jupiter Wagons has received a ₹1,140 crore order from the Railway Board to manufacture and supply 2,583 BOXNHL and BOXNS wagons.
A fresh Indian Railways tender for 5,800 BOBRN wagons further supports the sector’s demand outlook.
Rajasthan’s 210 km, 6 lane Kishangarh-Kotputli Greenfield Expressway is set to move towards construction, with tenders scheduled to be invited in November.
Developed by RSRDC, the project aims to reduce traffic pressure on the Jaipur-Ajmer Expressway and Delhi-Jaipur NH-48. Announced in July 2024, it is part of Rajasthan’s plan to build 9 greenfield expressways.
Tenders for the Beawar–Bharatpur corridor are also expected in the coming months.

Indian Railways has approved a new 16 coach Vande Bharat Sleeper service between Varanasi and New Delhi, with its inaugural run likely on 31 October 2026.
The train will accommodate 823 passengers in AC First Class, AC 2 Tier and AC 3 Tier, covering approximately 966 km in around 9 hours. It will stop at Prayagraj Junction and Kanpur Central, operating 6 days a week.
Golaghat DC inspected the proposed Gohpur-Numaligarh underwater tunnel project, estimated to cost ₹18,662 crore.
NHIDCL has floated the construction tender, with technical bids scheduled to open on 3 November 2026.
Assam’s ₹18,662 crore Gohpur-Numaligarh project will create a 33.77 km 4 lane greenfield corridor, including a 15.79 km twin-tube road-and-rail tunnel beneath the Brahmaputra. NHIDCL has invited tenders, with completion targeted within 5 to 6 years.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured 2 contracts worth ₹5,000-10,000 crore for Bangladesh’s first underground metro project, Dhaka Metro Line 1.
The 31.21 km network will comprise the 19.87 km Airport Line and 11.34 km Purbachal Line, with 19 stations. Funded by JICA, the project is planned for completion by December 2030.
The ₹156 crore Rudraprayag Bypass bridge-tunnel project has entered trial traffic operations.
The project features a 900.3 metre tunnel and a 200 metre bridge over the Alaknanda River, connecting NH-107 (Kedarnath Highway) with NH-7 (Badrinath Highway).
It will help divert pilgrim traffic away from Rudraprayag town, improving connectivity to both Kedarnath and Badrinath. Formal inauguration is awaited.
The Railway Board has granted conditional approval to the first 16 coach Vande Bharat chair-car train manufactured at RCF Kapurthala, equipped with an Alstom propulsion system.
However, it flagged several safety issues, including single-pole MCBs that must be replaced with double-pole MCBs, a poorly responsive driver touchscreen and loosely secured fire extinguisher cabinet doors.
Although the train is approved for 160 kmph, it is currently restricted to 130 kmph. RCF must rectify the defects and provide proper identification labels before full deployment.

Arunachal Pradesh needs the Frontier Highway & dams (for hydro, pumped hydro & flood mitigation). Without transport & power there won't be any economic development. Or defence. Or tourism. Or advanced agriculture.
- Those imbeciles who blindly say no to basic development just because "aww nature" should be deprived of all modern amenities. Such entitlement should be a crime. You can't build a single shed without causing ecological problems, go live in thatched huts or caves instead of 5 star hotels under AC then. Biblical levels of hypocrisy.
- Obviously overdevelopment of fragile areas is bad. The best India can and should do is prioritize. We've built too much in some areas and nothing in others. Time to build where there's nothing currently.
