Long day finished in Zadar. People often ask me what matters in leadership. I have thought about it for a long time. My answer is still the same: EVERYTHING.👈 Leadership is not a single skill. It is the discipline of being good at many things at the same time. You lead people. You lead organizations. You lead relationships. You cannot do any of that well if you only understand strategy decks and org charts. The piece we forget most often is the work and the product itself.👍 What do your people actually build, ship, debug, and operate? What do your partners do with that work once it leaves your building? What do customers really do with your product and your service? What ecosystem do you live in? How does customer feedback become the next product? In my case, that whole chain is technology & software. If I do not understand the product, the platform, and the ecosystem, I am not leading. I am commenting from the side. That is why I spent a day with developers & technical leaders from our partners at Infobip Shift. To listen and learn. Shift’s program is about AI agents, cloud-native platforms, enterprise production, security, and feedback loops. Red Hat’s 2026 portfolio is built for exactly that stack: one hybrid foundation for Linux, containers, virtualization, automation, and AI, so organizations do not rebuild the platform every time the model changes. Some learnings: “From AI-assisted coding to agent-led execution. The question is no longer “can the model answer?” It is “can an agent complete a long-running software or business workflow reliably?” That is product, service, and operations in one sentence.” “The year ahead, or an attempt to predict the near-term evolution of AI. Not the reference architecture. The messy hybrid — VMs still there, Kubernetes already there, GPUs arriving, data that cannot leave the country, agents that want production access. If everybody is saying the work is moving from “ask the model” to “let the agent do the job,” then our products and services have to accept that feedback. Leadership that goes in with developers, listens, and changes the product, sales and services is the job.
