Hi @TeamYouTube, I need help restoring monetisation to my YouTube channel (20k+ subscribers) following my relocation from the UK to the UAE. Google confirmed the cancellation of my old UK AdSense payments account, but my replacement UAE account has been rejected without a clear explanation. My channel review is complete, but AdSense approval remains blocked. Creator Support has provided only generic policy responses, despite my explaining the account migration. Could someone investigate or escalate this? I have a support case reference and account details available to share privately. Thanks!

One for my Dubai connections! Another example of this city going a little further than you might expect. From 31 October, Dubai is encouraging everyone to get active for 30 minutes a day, for 30 days. And it’s not just encouragement. The Dubai Fitness Challenge includes free activities across the city, cycling on Sheikh Zayed Road, a mass-participation run, yoga and more. I spend much of my professional life thinking about how to turn good intentions into action. It’s rather nice to see an entire city doing just that. Worth exploring, whether you’re new to Dubai (like me) or have lived here for years. Details: dubaifitnesschallenge.com/ Anyone planning to take part? #Dubai #DubaiFitnessChallenge #DubaiCommunity

Discovered that with my move from UK to UAE and switching regions, a lot of my @Apple store purchases have been lost / made unavailable. Not all obscure stuff, but fairly recent mainstream purchases. Disappointing.

Learned about Michael Douglas’s upcoming autobiography 5 minutes ago. Found there will be an audiobook version narrated by the man himself 2 minutes ago. Pre-ordered 1 minute ago and looking forward to receiving it on 6 October.

They said “make sure you network with EVERYONE in Dubai.” I’ve run out of humans. But the networking must continue. Have a great weekend.

One of the best things about moving to Dubai has been the people. I’ve met people from everywhere, doing all sorts of jobs. And some of their stories stop you in your tracks. I’ve spoken to people working here on two or three-year contracts who have left their families behind and won’t see them again for years. I’d come to expect that from the males taxi drivers, but it also includes women with very young children. One was a security worker. I see security staff everywhere here. I’d rarely thought about the person behind the uniform. She left her children at home - I think she said in Uganda - because working in UAE gives them opportunities she couldn’t give them by staying. Meanwhile, I moved to Dubai with my wife and children and occasionally complain about the traffic and weird school pick up times. Perspective was only a conversation away. There are millions of stories walking around this city. I’m trying to get better at asking about them.
