Jeff Yan: Hyperliquid Has No Competitors, Nobody Competes with the Internet
Hyperliquid Labs co-founder and CEO Jeff Yan @chameleon_jeff said in an October 7 interview with Risk Labs co-founder Hart Lambur at TOKEN2049 2026 that it is inaccurate to view Hyperliquid as competing with platforms that integrate its infrastructure.
Yan said VALR's integration through Builder Codes is the first representative example of this model, and that more platforms may eventually tap into Hyperliquid's infrastructure and liquidity while continuing to maintain their own user relationships and trading flows. Lambur compared the model to the internet, saying that "no one is competing with the internet - people simply use it."

I’m interviewing Jeff Yan on the main stage at Token at 11am this morning.
This will be a continuation of our conversation from last year, where we predicted that equity perps would be a big deal (we did ok on that one).

been a while since i’ve done one of these, and @mannyornothing told me it was time to post it
to all my new followers, and to all those who have been around since the early days - hi!
i’m james - proud pug parent, partner to @alexianadlou, tattoo obsessed (yes that’s a full blackout sleeve), chef wannabe, marketer, artist, and coffee snob
we recently moved to Detroit from Copenhagen, and miss Europe fiercely (Detroit has its charm though)
i lead marketing at @AcrossProtocol & love all things storytelling, narrative building, and growth strategy. before this I was VP of Marketing at @rarible, ran a small marketing agency in the midwest, have been a marketer for over a decade, and was a commercial photographer before that
the thing i really want you to know about me that’s most important? i’m constantly searching for ways to make the most positive impact in the world that i can. people matter above all else, and i carry that in my work so deeply
when im not working, you can find me watching Bob’s Burgers, hanging with Cortado & Toast (the pugs), cooking, cycling, exploring good food and coffee with @alexianadlou or waking up way too early to get a few hours in at the gym
happy Saturday friends
go touch some grass & enjoy the weekend!

Debits burn to mint Arbitrage is live.
Please read details thoroughly.
Burn phase ends October 16th.

Debits Receipts
Total Debits minted - 7,301
Total # of @vvcredits acquired - 64
Credits donated by creator (me) - 5
Remainder in acquisition wallet - .00845 ETH
Total Credits Distributed - 69 (nice)
After reviewing the total mints and wallets that qualified for burning to mint an Arbitrage and claiming a Credit, I realized there would be 5 qualified burn events that would not happen, because the Credits acquired ≠ total qualified wallets.
I acquired and donated 5 Credits to the pot, bringing the total to 69 - the total number of qualifying burns possible based on Debits held by unique wallets.
Debit burn to redeem the Arbitrage artwork is being tested, but instead of waiting, I went ahead and manually distributed all Credits to the qualified wallets.
You can see the full list of transactions on the Receipts page: permissionlessderivatives.co…
Burn redeem will be turned on later today, but no need to rush to claim your Credits - check your wallets! They're already there. Burn phase will be live through October 16th regardless so that you can claim your Arbitrage.
Huge thank you to everyone who minted and joined this little experiment.
Now go follow @jackbutcher if you aren't already, and make some Statements!

Gold lending has been quoted every working day for fifty years, yet is still closed to almost everyone who owns the asset.
Institutional minimums, bullion bank relationships, settlement infrastructure.
PAXGy changes that.
Live today on @okx and onchain on @Uniswap, @XLayerOfficial, @0xProject, @ether_fi, powered by @chainlink CCIP.

this is ethereum
This is Ethereum.
There are 291 projects, companies, protocols and communities in this image. It is still only a fraction of what has been built.
What makes this remarkable isn't just the scale. It's how that scale was created.
There is no parent company behind all of this. No CEO allocating capital across these projects, no central entity deciding who gets to build or what the ecosystem should become. Thousands of independent teams, communities and individuals have built their own piece of Ethereum, often with completely different goals, while sharing the same underlying infrastructure.
Finance, credit, stablecoins, payments, RWAs, privacy, identity, gaming, social applications, infrastructure, culture and public goods are increasingly becoming parts of the same composable economy.
That structure matters.
Value isn't concentrated in one company at the top. It is distributed across protocols, builders, users, communities and assets. Yet they can still reinforce each other because they share Ethereum as common infrastructure.
And underneath that economy sits ethereum:native.
ethereum:native secures Ethereum, pays for its blockspace and is used throughout the ecosystem as collateral, liquidity and money. As more applications, assets and economic activity settle on Ethereum, the economic role of ETH grows with it.
This is why we believe ETH remains heavily undervalued.
The market often looks at ETH as another crypto asset. We look at what is actually being built around it.
291 logos in one image, with many more still missing. And most of the world's people, assets and economic activity haven't even moved onchain yet.
Ethereum is no longer just an experiment in decentralized technology.
It is becoming an entire economy, built by many, owned by no one, with ETH at its core.
