You’ve just lost an important tournament, and you’re about to review the games to learn from your mistakes. And right there, you’re about to fuck up again. Every time I’ve watched teams review their games, they’ve made a major mistake that undermines all their work and only gives them the illusion of being productive. The truth is, they’re missing the target entirely. Learn to avoid this mistake. Stop focusing on what the problem looks like on the surface, and start addressing its actual root cause. You’ve fallen into the trap I describe in this video if: - your team keeps making the same mistakes despite having discussed them more than 10 times already - your teammate keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. It’s like he just doesn’t care! - as a head coach, you feel like your team can’t apply what you’ve taught them, and you have to break it down for them over and over again - when you ask someone what they could do better, the only answer you get is: "I don’t know" The video is fairly long, so feel free to open it in a new tab and let it play while you get on with whatever you need to do.

Project Blender will start real soon, and if you want to maximize your chances of performing during this event, follow these 3 steps: 1. Take all our expectations, your dreams, your hopes 2. Shove them up your ass 3. Focus only on what you can fully control: how you approach your next duel, your next call, your next swing, your next ability. Execute each one as well as you can, and forget about the rest. Players who underperform in officials keep making the same mistake: they focus on anything but the game they’re playing. Here are the most common thoughts that will kill your performance today: - "Man, winning this event would be huge for my career!" - "I have to be sharp today!" - "I still haven’t received a great offer. Maybe this event will turn things around for me!" - "I just need to avoid making mistakes!" - "We’re so much better than these teams. We should at least get Top X" - "There’s no way we can throw an 8–4 lead. Why the fuck are we trolling like this?!" - "What will people think of me if I don't perform again?" - "I need to prove my worth to the world! I NEED to perform!" Why can these thoughts wreck your performance so quickly? Because they all have one thing in common: they pull your attention toward outcomes, expectations, and judgments you can’t fully control. Your brain amplifies whatever you focus on. - Focus on all your failures, and you’ll start feeling like one. - Focus on every time you underperformed when it mattered most, and congratulations: you’re now doubting yourself. - Focus on things you can’t fully control, and you’ll start feeling powerless. Like a victim of your circumstances. But the opposite is also true: - Focus on your successes, and you’ll feel like you’re the fucking best. - Focus on the times you made the right decision and saved the day, and you’ll feel fucking smart. - Focus on what you can fully control, and you’ll feel capable of doing something about the situation in front of you. Here are 3 situations that can send your team straight into a meltdown if you let your attention drift away from what you can control: - "It’s a 4v1. This round is ours. There’s no way we can lose!" Watch your team explode after you throw the round by rushing the last player like monkeys. - "We’re up 8–4. This game is ours!" Watch your opponents mount a comeback while your team chokes harder with every round. - "We’re so much better than them. We fucking destroyed them in scrims!" Watch your team lose to those same “monkeys” while you blame each other instead of finding solutions and focusing on what matters. If winning Project Blender is the only objective guiding your attention, you’re building habits that will completely destroy your chances of going pro. Letting an outcome you can’t control dictate how you think and play is a shitty approach. It’s incompatible with a champion’s mindset. But if your goal for Project Blender is to improve your ability to focus on what matters, on what you can fully control, then whether you win or lose Project Blender, you walk away better than you came in. It's your call now. Act like everyone else and fall into the same traps. Act like a champion and learn something that will improve your performance for the rest of your career. Believe it or not, most people choose option 1 because it's easier. But becoming a champion was never easy to begin with.
