"NATO is not the thing that Russia is afraid of. Russia is afraid of democracy expanding to Russia. Why are we in NATO? It is because we are afraid of Russia. And the only thing that really works – the only security guarantee that works – is NATO's umbrella," Kaja Kallas said in an interview with AFP in Washington.

There is an aggressor: Russia.
There is a victim: Ukraine.
We were right to help Ukraine and sanction Russia three years ago—and to keep doing so.
By “we,” I mean the Americans, the Europeans, the Canadians, the Japanese, and many others.
Thank you to all who have helped and continue to do so. And respect to those who have been fighting since the beginning—because they are fighting for their dignity, their independence, their children, and the security of Europe.

An interesting, unexpected effect of the AI revolution: big companies seem to be more willing to buy from young founders. I'm not sure why. It could because they expect younger founders to understand AI better (as in fact they do). Or maybe they just need the software more.

Focusing on 1000ppm because that's when things start to get "uncomfortable" for humans i.e., nausea and headaches is totally off. At ~500pm, the likelihood of catastrophic climate impacts, such as large-scale disruptions to ecosystems, accelerated ice melt, and extreme weather events, becomes much higher. Some have warned that exceeding 500 ppm could lead to irreversible damage and tipping points in the Earth's climate system. You know this.
Not a thought piece, but a manifesto
Today, we are releasing our vision for the future of the defense industrial base in our latest manifesto, “Rebuilding the Arsenal of Democracy.” America’s defense industrial base is lagging behind modern threats. Anduril’s Arsenal enables hyper-scale production of autonomous systems, preparing us for future warfare.

They say AI
You think of chat bots and humanoid robots
I think of 13.5-nanometer light, lasers, and flying drops of molten tin 🔥
How many transistors could a transistor transist if a transistor transist would?
Ask the speed of light 💫

Despite all the great technological and scientific advances over the last 100 years, we still have half of all people living below average. That’s unacceptable!
The best part about having three siblings is everyone - literally - triangulating intel on all the sibs to see how they’re ~really~ doing. No sib left behind.

nothing to see here, just an AI chip startup raising $640 million at a valuation of 800x last year revenue
Scoop: AI chip startup Groq just raised $640 million at a valuation of $2.8 billion, higher than previously reported. It’s a huge round compared to Groq’s financials: 2023 sales were as low as $3.4M, net loss was $88.3M, according to docs viewed by Forbes forbes.com/sites/richardniev…

Intel stock is now lower than it was in 1997. Back then, it had the 3rd highest market cap of any US company. Today, it's not in the top 100. It's an interesting anecdote when considering today's high fliers.
Devastated that the bipartisan high school debate group @jrstateamerica is shutting down. Owe so much of my critical thinking skills and friendships to this organization.
Sad to see American youth today consider debate identity affiliation rather than policy exploration
