A person from Srikakulam had reached out to us complaining that his land was being stolen from him at the behest of a powerful local politician. We visited the site to investigate and found that the land was rightfully belonging to his family and the local MRO was blatantly lying and fabricating things to steal their land He also said they were scared that the people involved can even murder them over this. Our team visited the police station with their familt and wrote a letter demanding the police investigate and provide appropriate protection and also that since the land dispute was now in court, they should prevent third parties from trying to take possession. We also went to the MRO office and gave a complaint and warned the officials there that we will be taking this to the court as well as higher authorities and the blatant lies and fabrications of the MRO will get exposed. So we told them to do the right thing or they will be responsible for the inevitable repercussions We also gave a statement to the local media detailing the issue Property rights are human rights.
