Deeply shocked at the heinous attack at a Church in Karak, Jordan yesterday, which resulted in the tragic loss of several innocent lives and injuries to many others. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wish a swift recovery to those injured.
India stands firmly with the Government and the friendly people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in this difficult hour. We also reaffirm our strong commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

تدين الهند بشدة الهجوم الشنيع الذي استهدف كنيسة في الكرك بالأردن في 23 أكتوبر 2026، والذي أسفر عن خسائر فادحة في الأرواح البريئة وإصابة العديد من الأبرياء.
نتقدم بخالص التعازي لأسر الضحايا، ونتمنى الشفاء العاجل للمصابين في هذا الهجوم الجبان.

التقت وزيرة المالية وشؤون الشركات الهندية، السيدة @nsitharaman، اليوم، معالي السيدة زينة زيد طوقان، وزيرة التخطيط والتعاون الدولي@MoPIC_jordan، على هامش الاجتماع السنوي للبنك الآسيوي للاستثمار في البنية التحتية لعام 2026، المنعقد في الدوحة، قطر.
وناقش الوزيران تعزيز التعاون الثنائي بين الهند والأردن في مختلف المجالات، لا سيما الأمن الغذائي والأسمدة والتجارة والاستثمار.
وأشارت وزيرة المالية إلى أن الهند رابع أكبر شريك تجاري للأردن، وأكدت على هدف رفع حجم التبادل التجاري الثنائي إلى 5 مليارات دولار بحلول عام 2030.
وقالت معالي السيدة زينة زيد طوقان إن الهند سوقٌ حيويةٌ للأردن، وأن الأردن حريصٌ على مواصلة وتعزيز التعاون في العديد من القطاعات، بما في ذلك الأسمدة والطاقة والمياه ومشاريع البنية التحتية، ويتطلع إلى المزيد من فرص الاستثمار في الأردن.

Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. @nsitharaman met H.E. Ms. Zeina Zeid Toukan @MoPIC_Jordan on the sidelines of the AIIB 2026 Annual Meeting in Doha, Qatar, today.
The two Ministers discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between India and Jordan spanning various fields, particularly food security, fertilisers, trade and investment.
The Union Finance Minister noted that India is the fourth largest trading partner for Jordan and highlighted the target of enhancing bilateral trade to $5 billion by 2030.
H.E. Ms. Zeina Zeid Toukan said that India is a critical market for Jordan and that Jordan is keen to continue and strengthen cooperation in many sectors including fertilizers, energy, water and infrastructure projects, and looked forward to more investment opportunities in Jordan.

In his speech, PM Modi highlighted India’s rapidly expanding digital ecosystem and its growing role in shaping the future of global connectivity and technology:
💠 5G connectivity now reaches every district, with 550,000+ base stations operational.
💠 Mobile internet speeds have increased 10-fold since the launch of 5G in 2022.
💠India’s digital infrastructure has enabled over USD 500 billion in Direct Benefit Transfers.
💠 This digital reach is also driving inclusion, with over USD 41 billion transferred directly to farmers through PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme.
