Just before 12:00 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the area of 40 Highway and Sterling Avenue in regard to a possible shooting. An adult male was transported to an area hospital unknown injuries. A possible suspect is in custody. Information will be updated as available.

Missing/Endangered Person - Silver Alert
Missing/Endangered Person-Silver Alert IPD is attempting to locate a missing/endangered person. 31-year-old Ronnie Coleman stepped out of a residence in the 600 Blk of Sundown Dr around 11:00pm this evening, 2-16-24. Ronnie is described as a white male, 6’0”, 160 lbs. He has gray hair and blue eyes. Ronnie was last seen wearing a dark colored cap, brown jacket, and black pants. It is unknown what direction he left the residence but is believed to be on foot. Ronnie is described to have the mental capacity of a child. If you see Ronnie contact the Independence Police Department at 816-836-3600 or your local law enforcement agency. We would like to get Ronnie reunited with his family.

Missing Autistic Non-Verbal Adult IPD is currently trying to locate a missing adult. 32 year old Daniel Gutridge was last seen in the area of Pepperwood Apartments, 19400 E. 37th Terr. He was walking westbound from that location around 8:50am this morning. Daniel is described as 5'10", 185 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes. He was wearing a gray shirt with black stitching on his sleeves and black jeans. If you see Daniel, please contact our dispatch at 816-836-3600. We will update when he is located.

The Independence Police Department is attempting to locate a missing/endangered adult. Virgilio Garcell-Rodriguez, a 77 year old male, walked away from a long term care facility in the 800 Blk of E. Walnut St. He was last seen today, 11-29-23 at 2:10pm. Virgilio was last seen wearing a green stocking cap, dark shirt, dark sweatpants and no shoes. He is described as being 5”7”, 165 LBS, gray hair and brown eyes. Virgilio has dementia and may have gotten lost. If you see Virgilio, please contact our dispatch at 816-836-3600 or your local police agency so that we may get him reunited with caregivers.
