As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in healthcare, questions of equity, accountability, and whose interests these technologies serve demand closer attention. In reproductive healthcare, digital innovation must be assessed not only by what it makes possible, but also by how it affects rights, access and the lived realities of African communities.
Applications are now open for the Advanced Short Course on Advocacy for Digital Health Justice, an opportunity to strengthen Africentric approaches to the governance of AI and digital health.

A Case Brief on the recent High Court ruling (HSO & 3 Others v DPP & 6 Others, Petition No. 27 of 2020 [2026] KEHC 6906) on Consensual Adolescent Relationships in Kenya.
The High Court did declare the application of sections 8, 9 and 11 of the Sexual Offences Act to consensual, non‑coercive and non‑exploitative sexual conduct between adolescents of close age proximity as inconsistent with Articles 27, 28, 31, 43 and 53.
The court directed police and prosecutors to differentiate consensual peer relationships from coercion or exploitation, ordered the ODPP to gazette prosecutorial guidelines, required police protocols to be aligned with constitutional rights, and suspended two criminal cases involving consensual adolescent conduct. #AdolescentJusticeKE

This week, our Technical Research Advisor represented Inclusive Impact Lab at the Business Week Afrika Annual Summit 2026 in Nairobi.
The theme: “A Borderless Africa: One Continent, Unlimited Opportunities for Trade and Innovation.” #TwendeBWA
The Summit brought together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, development organisations and ecosystem actors to exchange ideas on trade, innovation, market access and collaboration across Africa.
For IIL, these conversations matter.
We believe better decisions require more than good ideas. They require evidence, context, inclusion and collaboration.
We’re taking the insights and connections from the Summit forward as we continue building partnerships for more equitable development.

We’ve been asking ourselves a pretty simple question: can development data be easier to explore?
So we're building Equisight and testing that idea in public. This is still an MVP, and we want people to tell us what feels intuitiveand what doesn't.
So, what would you click first?

For many young people, the internet is the first place they turn for information about contraception and sexual health, especially when asking someone face-to-face feels uncomfortable.
But what happens when the information they find is misleading, their privacy is violated, or asking a question exposes them to stigma, sexualised harassment and other forms of Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV)?
Access to accurate information, privacy and safety online are digital rights. Without them, young people may be misled, silenced or discouraged from seeking the support they need.
Tonight’s #RestlessConversations X (Twitter) Space draws on youth-led #AUEUYouthVoicesLab research to explore how culture, misinformation, #TFGBV and digital safety shape young people’s sexual and reproductive health choices.
