Before the start of this cycle, Abbott had over $100M cash on hand. Hinojosa has forced him to drain his coffers in a way he never expected to. She’s forcing him to run the race of his life
New campaign finance reports in #TXGOV (Sept. 25-Oct. 24): - Greg Abbott (inc.) (R): $26M raised, $35.4M spent, $8.6M cash on hand - Gina Hinojosa (D): $17.5M raised, $19.1M spent, $990K cash on hand

My 98-yr-old life-long Republican stepfather died a few months ago. His last request was for me to deliver a $10K check to @jamestalarico. Had he lived he would have voted for Democrats up & down the ballot for the 1st time.

NEW: An order of New York nuns founded in 1817 has rebuked the bishops who laid hands on President Trump 12 days before the midterms. “Images carry messages,” the Sisters of Charity wrote. “Silence carries messages, too.” The nuns have a powerful ally in Pope Leo XIV, who has put women at the center of his leadership. They now run three Vatican dicasteries, a larger share than in Trump’s cabinet. thelettersfromleo.com/p/new-…

CBS identified Illinois based Three Z Printing as the holder of the permit associated with the fake transgender mailers. One of the owners, Matt Zerrusen, is based in Dallas. His Instagram shows pictures with Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump, and comments from local Republicans.

Imagine being in public office for 30 years and still not knowing how endorsements work. That’s Greg Abbott. One fourth of the sheriffs he said on Monday were supporting him have since spoken out to say that’s not true. 😬😬😬 newsweek.com/sheriffs-deny-e…

A woman survives childhood abuse, becomes a doctor, and runs for governor. Republicans somehow decided the villain in that story was the woman.

There is something deeply wrong with a political system that allows one trillionaire to buy his own personal U.S. Senator.

Ramaswamy’s GOP gubernatorial primary right-wing and problematic rival Casey Putsch will now vote for Amy Acton: “In light of the most recent attack by Vivek, I have considered this: Vivek and his friends cover up human and child trafficking while attacking Amy Acton over the abuse she endured as a child…I’m a Republican, but I’m crossing party lines to vote for Amy and end Vivek’s political future in America.” forbes.com/sites/saradorn/20…

A second Democratic sheriff on @GregAbbott_TX’s endorsement list says he did not endorse the governor. Val Verde Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez’s statement:
The endorsement of Webb County Sheriff Martin Ceullar has been removed from @GregAbbott_TX's campaign website. Sheriff Ceullar, the brother of U.S. Rep. Henry Ceullar (D-Laredo), was indicted by the DOJ earlier this year for allegedly defrauding his office during COVID-19.

Abbott announced 12 endorsements from local sheriffs this morning. By mid morning, we learned one of the 12 was currently under federal indictment for public corruption. By mid afternoon, we learned one of the 12 said he never endorsed Abbott, but was listed nonetheless.
South Texas drama: Greg Abbott initially included Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar, Henry Cuellar’s brother, on a list of Democratic sheriffs for Abbott. Abbott’s campaign says it was a mistake and removed him from the list online. Martin Cuellar says he asked to be removed, noting Abbott endorsed his brother’s GOP opponent, Tano Tijerina: facebook.com/share/1DuRA2AkP…

Jenn Mack supporters y’all getting played. He used her to do his dirty work for him today.
The misogyny shown toward a candidate who came to debate proves how insincere and hypocritical Gina Hinojosa is. This morning’s circus in Austin was no sincere attempt to debate: a standing podium reachable only by stairs, purposefully designed to keep someone in a wheelchair from participating.

NYT: ..@GinaHinojosaTX has a group of supporters like Davenport, people furious at Abbott over school privatization and data centers. Mary Lowe, an education activist and a self-described “fundamental Christian,” told me that Abbott is “a globalist. He’s a tyrant. He’s a great deceiver.” And though she’s voted Republican in almost every primary and every general election since 1979, she’s voting for Hinojosa in November. “She’s a good human,” said Lowe. “She’s one of us.” nytimes.com/2026/10/09/opini…
