Sadly, Colorado just saw its first pediatric flu death of the season. Last year, 8 kids died from flu in Colorado. Of those, 5 were not vaccinated and 1 was too young to get the shot. Flu season is coming early this year, so it's a good idea to get vaccinated by October 31.
The flu shot might not stop you from getting the flu, but it'll drastically reduce your chance of being hospitalized or dying from the disease. ❤️🩹

Join us at our Community Baby Shower on October 25th from 1-4 pm at Hillside Community Center in Colorado Springs! This free event will help connect traditionally underserved pregnant people and families of young children with local resources.
There will be a vaccine clinic hosted by CDPHE, where families can receive low- or no-cost vaccines, regardless of insurance status. We will also offer free food, kid-centered activities, and door prizes!

The US has reached 3,659 measles cases this year, the most single-year cases since 1991. More US measles cases have been reported in the past two years than in all the years between 2000-2024 combined. The US has recorded four measles deaths this year, the most since 1992.
The MMR vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others from measles. You never know if your family could be affected, so why take the chance of being unvaccinated?
