Grateful to be featured on the cover of The Guardian Saturday. I enjoyed sitting down with them to talk about my memoir, THE PERILOUS FIGHT, now a #1 New York Times Best Seller.
🔁 The Guardian Saturday Ten years ago, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem. He was accused of disrespecting the flag, the game, and America. In tomorrow's @gdnsaturday, Kaepernick talks about being 'blackballed' for taking the knee, the civil rights movement, and why he still trains in case he gets to play again.

Taylor: "To my students watching this, I am going to do whatever I can to stay here and play this game.
I am big. I am strong. I am smart.
These are the things I say to you every morning, and these are the things I am going to say to myself" #BB28

Happy Black History Month! For 100 years, each February we’ve celebrated the Black folks who've shaped our nation and fought for our freedoms. As we reflect on how far we've come, we can't lose sight of the work that remains. The dreams of our ancestors depend on all of us carrying on their work and refusing to be deterred. That's what Black history is all about: the enduring hope, joy, resilience and resistance—truths that resonate as powerfully today as ever before.

Black History Month is a time to recognize the lived, shared experience of all Black folks who have fundamentally shaped, challenged, and ultimately strengthened America. It’s about taking an unvarnished look at the past so that we can create a better future. As we mark 100 years of celebrating Black history, let’s honor the sacrifices of the leaders who came before us, and recommit ourselves to continuing their work.

I’m a single issue voter.
My issue is I’m not going back to the fucking 1950s.
