I’m from Indianapolis. No highly educated, career-minded, social non-white person wants to go live in any small city/town in Indy, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky or anywhere out there. Sure cost of living is low but you’re not going to have any sort of meaningful social life unless you just wanna get married, pop out kids and do absolutely nothing else. I couldn’t wait to get tf out of Indiana.

What I have noticed is that there are plenty of well paid jobs across the Midwest that employers are struggling to fill. And these are cities and towns with a significantly lower cost of living. The opportunities are there. Ppl just have to be willing to move where the jobs are.
