The sad demise of @BBCNewsnight It keeps getting worse. It won’t be long before they are bringing in random people off the streets to populate the guest list.

20 years ago 'Community Wealth Building' was coined by @DemocracyCollab to describe how we can build a new and fair economic model challenging decades of systemic failure. Twenty years on from Cleveland, Ohio to Preston, Scotland to Amsterdam, Canada to St Louis, South Korea to Ireland and New Zealand to East Poland, Community Wealth Building has become a fast growing and exciting movement to build the democratic economy. This new compendium of essays on the achievements of Community Wealth Building across the globe highlights progress with many brilliant contributions. I have been privileged to be involved for many years and have contributed a chapter on the #PrestonModel from Page 164. Read or download the full anthology: democracycollaborative.org/w…

Guy who "abhors racism" thinks Pakistani Britons have poisoned the nation with their alien medieval culture xitter.cf/AdamBienkov/status/187…
There are more than a million British people with Pakistani heritage in the UK. For the Shadow Home Secretary to suggest they have an "alien" and "medieval" culture and to smear them by association with the crimes of a tiny minority, is the politics of the far-right gutter.

Right-wing thugs trying to bust into @ListJoint‘s headquarters in Tel-Aviv, where @Mesarvot_ is screening a film about young refusers. I‘m still here inside. The thugs are outside shouting with megaphones. These men are on Itamar Ben-Gvir‘s payroll. They are part of the regime.

Warning: Distressing and graphic language An undercover investigation by ITV Exposure into Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has found multiple elected councillors and party candidates expressing racist views and using offensive language. ITV has obtained secretly recorded footage showing Reform officials from across England and Wales using violent, racist and sexist language. Councillors Alan Feeney, Chris Whelan and Jamie Campbell did not reply to our request for comment. Councillors Feeney and Whelan have since resigned from Reform UK. In a statement shared with ITV News, Reform UK said: "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed." "Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations."

This is EXACTLY* what Nigel Farage said about giving the Chagos Islands to Trump. Anyone trying to deny this, is literally flying in the face of reality — 1984-style. He said he'd trade them in return for Trump's silence on the Falklands. *two edits for brevity

This guy utterly dismantles the populist politics of Reform and Restore in 90 seconds. It’s actually quite beautiful. Take decades of deep-rooted problems in Britain and convince people that a relatively tiny proportion of the population is responsible for all of them. Housing, the NHS, crime. Blame illegal migrants for everything. Suddenly, you don’t need credible solutions to the housing crisis, NHS waiting lists or crime. You just need increasingly extreme policies on immigration. And by the time people realise you never had meaningful answers to the vast majority of Britain’s problems, you’re already in power, handing out tax cuts to your donors.

This is what Reform are aligning themselves with now. And this is where this debate is heading.
Whether the left likes it or not, the 21st century will be the century of biological reality. And then the century of biological control.

In July 1938, as a smug response to the West's failure to accept Jewish refugees at the Évian Conference, the Nazi newspaper Völkischer Beobachter published the headline "No one wants them." The Spectator today:
This is an appalling idea. Palestinians are probably the worst migrant population on Earth. We know this because in March 1992, Denmark made the mistake of granting residence to 321 of them. As of 2016 over 63 per cent had been convicted of at least one crime, with 67 of them being jailed. Even then, in the 1990s, Palestinians were highly criminal and highly economically inactive. Now, having been ruled by Hamas for over two decades, fed endless anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli propaganda, they are even worse. Similarly, we know that Afghans have very low levels of economic activity and the men are around 14 to 20 times more likely to commit sexual offences than British men. ✍️ David Shipley Article | spectator.com/article/taking… | @ShipleyWrites
