I’ve always loved braids because we know what it feels to be
joined,
pulled,
twisted,
still,
patient,
coded,
mysterious,
parted,
rooted,
disguised,
reviled,
and tight. tight. so tight

Elon Musk says he is a “free speech absolutist” - easy to pretend that enabling misogynists racists & LGBQT & all haters in spewing their hate is a noble intention if you've never been targeted on account of your sex, gender, race, color, sexual identity or religion.

I am in awe. These unarmed men and women walking towards security forces, one by one they open up their arms and shout; “we are not scared of bullets, kill us.” This is Amol city where dozens of protesters got killed over the past months.

So excited about how our youth are leading the way on community health. Would love to see Soul, the youth at @RootsEmpowers and others on larger stages sharing their strategies to keep us safe as C19 spikes re-emerge
12/x Soul (a youth artist from #Baltimore), joined the panel to talk about this #publichealth video she recorded with @THEKINGDMC. It's one of our #CommunityImmunity videos.

The school in St. Louis had metal detectors. Police said the doors were locked. There were armed guards inside the school.

Republicans will tell you the solution is somehow more guns. On Nov 8, you need to tell them they’re full of shit.

44 years ago today, The Wiz, starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Nipsey Russell, Ted Ross, Lena Horne, Richard Pryor, & Mable King, was released in theaters.
The Wiz was the first time MJ collaborated with Quincy Jones, who produced the soundtrack.
I thought I could do casual mindless watching with #RHOP but the colorism/misogynoir games especially from Robyn et al—and the way Wendy has to be more restrained is too exhausting to watch another season.
I wish them all well.
